Trying For a Baby II

Hey all,
Thought I`d pop my head in. Me and OH have unofficially been trying since xmas before last but not really making effort so I don`t count it really. This year though we are going to make much more of and effort but i`m already symptom spotting as you call it. I have a horrible taste in my mouth everytime I drink that tastes like someones put a penny in the bottom of my cup. I googled it like the fool I am and found out it can be a symptom. I can`t remember being "on" in December though only late November so I have a test to do in a bit just on case.
Is it a common sign? It`s nothing Ive experienced before and its driving me nuts.
Its so weird that after years of "Don`t have sex your get AIDS or pregnant" at school that its actually so difficult to get pregnant. I sense a conspiracy!!!
Kind regards to all
Fishcake

Elastigirl, just wanted to send you a big hug ((((((((:A ))))))))). Hope the scan shows everything to be ok. I know it's easier said than done to not worry but I think a few ladies on the pg thread had early bleeding and have gone on to have normal pregnancies.
Felt sick again this morning before I got up and have been ravenous today. I feel like I'm constantly wishing time away at the moment- wishing the 2ww was over so I know one way or another then wishing AF away so we can try again:rolleyes: .....aaargh, what will I be like when I get pregnant?:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

I haven't had a reply to my last question so i thought some of you may be able to help.
Well i started bleeding again yesterday and i can't get a midwife apt until the end of the month. Can you believe the midwives here are only on call from 9-10 am So i phoned today and told her about the bleeding and she wanted me to have a scan today but the hospital is fully booked until tues. So i have to wait.
She said i have to have an internal scan as only 6 weeks and over weight. What is it like? does it hurt?
Thanks
Hi Elastigirl
I had an internal scan and don't worry it doesn't hurt.
The scan device is phallic shaped and my sonographer put a condom on the end (bit bizarre but for hygiene reasons obviously!) and lube obviously.
Not even as uncomfortable as a smear test in my opinion.
Good luck for the scan hun - wishing you all the best x0 -
Well everyone, how are you all? Elastigirl I am sending you big hugs and try not to worry too much. Fishcake_random, when I was about 6 weeks pg with DD I had a really horrible metallic taste in my mouth which didn't last too long but nothing I could do would get rid of it. It is supposed to be a symptom so you will have to let us know how you get on with your test.
My news today is that AF hasn't showed yet and I don't feel like she is coming, as I do normally. If she doesn't appear tonight I will do a test in the morning but wasn't sure if that is too early? I am normally like clockwor so we will have to wait and see what happens. I am still trying to tell myself that it probably hasn't happened this month, (tiny piece of me really hoping it has though).

Hi Elastigirl, if you are worried you can go to the hospital early maternity unit and ask for a scan without an appointment, only problem is that you will have to wait a while, the first time I went I had to wait 4 hours! It's quite normal to have bleeding, especially if it is when your period would normally be due. Hope everything is ok.

Nikabella, have hope-your AF hasn't showed yet so theres room for hope still! I know it's easy to say but very hard to do.
With my DD I fell pg accidently (was only 16) and with DS I got pg 2nd month trying. Im now 6 years older since I last conceived and am aware that it may not happen so easily. I will still be mega dissapointed if it doesn't happen this month though.
We BD'd again last night. Did OV test again this morning and still LH negative though. It's very close though,I will ovulate within the next 3 days, and sperm can survive inside your fallopian tubes for up to 5 days right?? Think we will BD again tm night to be sure
Sorry I never came back & mentioned that AF had turned up that afternoon after my post. I've spent the past few days feeling really upset about not being pregnant, at the same time as feeling really guilty that that's what I'm obsessing about rather than my DD's birthday which is tomorrow. I know I'm so lucky to have her & she is the absolute light of my life but I would just love her to have a sibling.
We too didn't have all this obsessing with our first! We didn't get pregnant by accident but I simply came off the pill & we thought "ah well it will happen in about 6-12 months", 4 weeks later I had a BFP. So I never had any of this worry, nervousness, anticipation.
Sounds like your managing to get lots of BDing in! Do you think the OV tests are worth the money? DO you just use those or do you do your BBT as well? I think the plan for this month will just be to BD every night/every other night & hope that works! At least it will save on the heating bill, however, OH might be falling asleep at his desk at work :rotfl:
Baby dust to everyone.

Is anyone else finding this TTC-ing exhausting?
BDing everynight this week has wiped me out, and I think OH is pretty tired too! We're usually a 1-2 times a week kind of a couple (gosh, how boring are we...what do you expect after nearly nine years:eek: ). I guess we both work long hours so are just grateful for the time we get to relax/sleep.
Okay, moan over- it's lots of fun really- just sleep depriving:kisses2:

1-2 times a week, lucky you! We're the boring ones who maybe do it 3-4 times a month. Been together 10 years. Just don't have the energy with working full time and looking after DD. OH thought it was Christmas again this week as I was ov'ing mid -week and practically raped him. :rotfl: Can't remember the last time we did it during the week (Christmas and New Year and holidays don't count).

Welcome Cady. I'd wait a couple of days and try testing again (ha like I would, I'd be testing every day). I used to be a regular 28 days but all of a sudden it changed to 32 days. I got my hopes up a few times to begin with. When I was pg with DD 7 years ago it took a while after AF was due for a test to show a BFP, I needed a blood test. It's not over til AF arrives. Good luck and baby dust to you. x
