  • Hi glad you don't mind me popping in here from time to time i just feel more part of this thread than the other one. I am so nervous about tomorrow i think mainly of what they will find or more likely not find than the actual scan it's self. I was feeling quite postive over the weekend as only had a bit of spotting but today i need a pad so i think it is all over for me. I did a pg test last night and it was still a BFP and still as strong but i am getting a slight pain in my side now like a stitch. I just keep thinking ectopic! So me and dh thought it would be a good idea to pack a small bag to leave in the car incase i need to stay in. Our thinking is if it's there then we won't need it if we don't bring one i will need one. I will let you know some time this week how i get on.

Sorry your AF's have arrived ladies baby dust to you all and can you send me some glue please!
    This is my signature!
  • Hi Elastigirl. Hope you are ok Chick. Thanks for popping back and letting us know how you are getting on. Good luck for tomorrow and I will be thinking about you. Let us know how you get on. Some women do bleed like this when pg so hopefully that will be all it is. It is a great idea to pack a bag as you say if you don't you will probably need one, and with a bit of luck if you do you won't.
Sticky baby glue to you xxx

Hi Elastigirl, I do hope you and the baby are ok. When you say 'pad' do you mean sanitary towel or just a panty liner? I only needed panty liners before my mc and the nurse wasn't worried about that. If the pain gets worse do go to hospital. I had a lot of painful trapped wind at the time and asked the nurse if a ectopic would feel like that but she said I would know if it was ectopic :o. Unfortunately at this stage the pregnancy tests wont tell you anything because the hcg will still register even after you have mc. I read somewhere that if you bleed in the first few weeks you have 50% chance of having a normal pregancy so fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on.
p.s. at the scan you need to have an empty bladder so you may get strange requests telling you to go to the toilet!

Elastigirl, would your AF have been due around the time the bleeding started? Just a thought,as it's not unheard of for some women to actually have a period when pg. Hope everything goes ok for you tommorow,I'll be thinking of you and your OH. xxx

Another day,and still no sign of OV for me!! My minds playing tricks on me now and Im starting to wonder if theres a possibility Ive 'missed' ov and conceived without realising?! Ive been feeling sick this afternoon (but don't know if thats down to an OD on caffine at a friends house this morning) and Im feeling absolutley drained..but thats maybe due to BDing more than normal? Y'see, I don't know what to think. Im on CD20 today. The longest cycle Ive had in 12months has been 34days (earliest being 27)..so going by that as a rough guide today would have been OV day for there then to be a further 2weeks till AF. My CM is still creamy white consistency, no sign of EWCM atall. Is it possible to OV without this?
I know there are people with bigger problems (still thinking of you Elastigirl) but It's doing my head in!!!!

  • Tons of sticky glue to you Elastigirl. My fingers are still crossed for you and I'm sending you a hug.gif

Helen, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your q's, but if it was me I would assume I had missed OV?!!

No news from us- still exhausted, still feeling sick and now have back ache but being on my 2ww I would expect nothing else! Life would be so dull if I had no symptoms to spot. I am being a good girl and laying off the booze (not touched it since New Years) and caffeine. Shock horror I have gone off coffee which is a tad annoying as we've just bought an Espresso machince :rotfl:

Hello ladies! I thought I would pop in to ask some advice...

DH & I are definitely read to start TTC. However, I've recently applied for this supplementary cash insurance plan through my work that pays £700 birth grants (for about £300 a year in payments, so that's a free £400!) and I'm now registered as from 6 January. However, as can be expected, there's a 10 month qualifying period before I could claim that money, so I absolutely cannot have a baby before 6 November now.

My next AF is due roughly around the beginning of Feb (4th) & if we HAPPENED to get pregnant on our first cycle trying (unlikely, but you never know!) that would give me a due date of 11 November - cutting it very fine with the qualifying period.

Would you risk it? - I'd hate to give birth 2 weeks early and miss out on the £700 just because we were too impatient to hold off TTC for 1 more month. However, I know the odds of getting a BFP in the 1st month of trying is fairly uncommon. I heard that most 1st time pregnancies run a bit longer than 40 weeks, too? We're really eager to start trying, but the practical side of me is cautious that if something goes wrong with the pregnancy & I have an early birth, we'll have wasted a good opportunity for easy cash for the baby.

Agh! Maybe AF will be late so even if I get pregnant, there'll be more than a 5 day window! :p

    Hi Aless02,

I would check the small print of the policy as most of them work on due date not the actual birth date.

Ruth - thanks. I have and it's not very well-worded except to say that a birth certificate must be provided when you claim and that you cannot claim until 10 months from the start of the policy. I suppose I could call just to clarify, but then I guess I'd need a doctor's affidavit if I gave birth early that I was actually due on xx date?

Sorry, I tend to over-think things WAY too much. Odds are we won't conceive the 1st month trying anyway, I just like to cover all my bases!
