Oh, Elastigirl, so sorry for your loss! Hope it pays smoothly & painlessly for you.

Just as an update on anyone who read my previous post - Ruth was right! I called the insurance company and they said that as long as I get a note from my doctor/midwife that the due date was xx date, even if a baby was somehow born before the 10 month qualifying period, it would be okay!

Glad you got an answer but I'd advise getting that in writing if at all possible. I'd hate for you to claim the money and be told that whoever told you the policy would pay out shouldn't have.

I have had a similar thing with BUPA. They told me they would cover the cost of a consultant, turned out the one I saw had the same name as another one on their register and the one I saw wasn't registered with them. I argued that that wasn't my problem and they did end up paying for it.

What I'm getting at is what one person tells you, another might disagree.

Just popping in to say hi and hello to the newbies.

Hope Elastigirl is getting on as ok as can be expected.

I Think I've become a Toni Weschler TCOYF convert! I'm wishing I had caught on to that book much sooner. It's quite bizarre how little women get taught about their bodies and menstrual cycle.

We're in the 2ww and charting religiously, but have had the first appointment with the doctor to see about getting checked out, so we're feeling good about taking a positive step.

We are also in 2ww and Im getting impatient already!! Can pg be detected as early as the egg implanting in the womb (if it has) ? Ive heard of some pg tests that say they are accurate from 1 week b4 period due,but can't remember what brand it was.

Annie, what do you chart in the 2ww? I know of charting to see when OV happens but not of any charting after OV? I'd be really interested to know as like I said in above post,we too are in the 2ww.

I'm using Fertility Friend (this is the first month I've been using it so I'm on the free trial still). I am charting my temp, cm, cervix position (which I'm still a beginner at), symptoms and moods. It was a bit complicated at first, but I'm getting used to it. TCOYF has helped me understand a lot of what I'm seeing. I've had a dip before ov, a dip in temp to the coverline yesterday and a fallback rise today.

Apparently charting after ov can just make the 2ww a bit less of a mystery - or maybe it's more that it's something to keep your mind occupied!

Good luck if you decide to do post-ov charting.

I posted some of this on the other thread, but I wanted to let you guys know too - just in case...

We have been using Sylk lubricant in our bd-ing up until this month, having read it was non-spermicidal. I searched for info on the Sylk website and was satisfied that it wasn't going to be harmful to them. Since we've been using pre-seed this month, I thought I'd google to see if I could find any mention of Sylk causing issues for the little swimmers. Lo and behold I found a link to the Australian site for it, which has a section that says that its ph level isn't right for good sperm motility as it's too acidic against the natural neutral ph levels at your most fertile time and should not be used when TTC!!!! http://www.sylk.com.au/whatis/faq.html

So, what I learned today was the difference between non-spermicidal and sperm-friendly. I won't be making that mistake again!

    Hi

Way back on page 62 I posted to say that me and OH and decided TTC. We put the feelers out around family and got some good responses - decided we would wait until later on this year to start trying properly (charting etc). Thought it would give me lots of time to save so that I can have more time off - don't got mat pay - only SMP and want as much time as I can get. Anyway, AF due last couple of days and no sign! Bit panicky as I really want it to happen this quick but scared that it might actually be happening! Does that make sense?

Tummy feels a bit weird but not AF weird if you know what I mean! :rotfl:

I knew roughly when I was OV so actually tried to avoid BD'ing (Christmas Day to New Year's Day) but think a few too many on Christmas Night and NY might have knocked that out of the water.

Have never felt this stressed over a period - don't know how you ladies who have been on here for any longer than a month have coped! I really wanna do a test but have to resist until next week - after all don't want to waste any money that could be going in the Baby Fund!!!

Will keep you posted and hope to se some +'s on here soon.

Elastigirl - best wishes and lots of hugs
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

Hi Galamazon, welcome back, I know exactly what you mean about wanting it to happen and not wanting it at the same time, I'm really worried if I'll be a good mum but still really want to have a baby. Good on you for trying to hold out another week :T

AnnieM, I've been trying to avoid using any lubricant. I find that I don't actually need it around ovulation time anyway but maybe we're not doing it enough... Please let me know if you find a 'sperm friendly' cheap one. Thanks
