Hi Cady- I agree with Scottishchick and would give it another couple of days (okay, I would test every day too) as it might be that the pregnancy hormone isn't yet strong enough to show in a test.

Another thing to think about is that you probably would have been due to ov around Xmas? Maybe the change in routine, overindulgence, overstress etc caused you to ov a little late. This would mean either your AF would be a few days late, or (fingers crossed) it will take a few extra days for BFP to show. Just a thought, and I obviously don't know your circumstances but if your Christmas was as hectic as mine this could be a culprit.

Let us know how it goes x x

  • 1-2 times a week, lucky you! We're the boring ones who maybe do it 3-4 times a month. Been together 10 years. Just don't have the energy with working full time and looking after DD. OH thought it was Christmas again this week as I was ov'ing mid -week and practically raped him. :rotfl: Can't remember the last time we did it during the week (Christmas and New Year and holidays don't count :D ).

Ha, ha- my OH is loving the BD-ing. He is as desperate for a BFP as me, but has mentioned that he won't mind if the trying takes a few more months!

Someone at OH's work got his wife pregnant first time of trying with their first (lucky s*ds) and he moaned to the boys at work that he had hoped the trying would take a few more months! Men- what can you do with them......

Sorry about posting twice in a row but I don't know how to double quote!

My DH said the same. A year on and we're seeing the doc next week :o (I've moved up to the 12+ Month thread but I'll keep popping in here to see how you're all getting on if that's ok!)

Sorry I never came back & mentioned that AF had turned up that afternoon after my post. I've spent the past few days feeling really upset about not being pregnant, at the same time as feeling really guilty that that's what I'm obsessing about rather than my DD's birthday which is tomorrow. I know I'm so lucky to have her & she is the absolute light of my life but I would just love her to have a sibling.

We too didn't have all this obsessing with our first! We didn't get pregnant by accident but I simply came off the pill & we thought "ah well it will happen in about 6-12 months", 4 weeks later I had a BFP. So I never had any of this worry, nervousness, anticipation.

Sounds like your managing to get lots of BDing in! Do you think the OV tests are worth the money? DO you just use those or do you do your BBT as well? I think the plan for this month will just be to BD every night/every other night & hope that works! At least it will save on the heating bill, however, OH might be falling asleep at his desk at work :rotfl:

    Baby dust to everyone.

    A.x

Sorry to hear your AF arrived, but you sound like you've come round to see it abit more positively,so well done you and keep trying! Hope your DD is having a wonderful birthday too.
I still havn't ov'd yet! I'm on CD18. Im putting it down to the stresses of xmas, new year,my DD's birthday also. I used my last OV tst yesterday though so I'll have to rely on CM to guide me. If I had more,I would keep using them,so yes,I think there worth the money, they were only a few quid on ebay. I did start out taking my BBT but the battery on my thermometer died  so I stopped and bought the tests intead.
I figure Ive got 3days at the most now till I finally OV (thats going by the length of my longest cycle over the past 12months) so will try to keep awake long enogh tonight to BD :rotfl:

Us too . . . about 3 times a month (well we have been together 10+ years)! Now this TTC has spurred us in to putting in some effort ;)

Sorry not popped in for a while, after AF turned up, but she's now gone, so we're planning this month's assault. Due to last months long cycle this may not be so easy . .. lots of CM spotting and a few OV tests me thinks, as well as extra BDing.

    Good luck all

Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for a few weeks, while doing my research into ttc. I took my last pill last week and am planning to wait the recommended 3 months...although I'm not really sure why. The evidence doesn't seem to be conclusive that waiting 3 months is a benefit. Does anyone have anymore information on this? Some sites seem to say it reduces the risk of miscarriage. But so many people I know have got pregnant straight away and had I not gone googling I wouldn't have even known about the 3 month recommended wait.

I've also started taking pregnacare. Is it too early to be taking these vitamins? I'm also not the heathiest person so I'm trying to change my diet to include 5 a day. If it helps the baby, then it's worth it :)

I've been a bit fed up today. Found out that another one of my friends is pregnant (that's three of them now) and it just makes me want one even more. Then me and my sister were looking at some pictures of her son when he was a couple of weeks old and it makes me ache.

We BD'd last night and I know I have ovulated recently but I know that once isn't likely to be enough :( If I had my way we'd be doing it every day from C10 to C20!! Just to make sure!!

I'm not sure what day I going to be due on this month, it's usually a saturday/sunday but last month was a thursday (christmas day!) so if I haven't come on by the Friday, am I late? Or should I wait til the Monday? I am going to be away that Sunday til the following Friday so if I don't come on i'll either have to test without my OH or I'll have to wait. Both of which will kill me!! I know i'm worrying over nothing and I'm totally rambling, because i'm tired probably.

Annie - sorry you're still not pregnant hunny, really feel for you. Do keep popping back and letting us know how you're getting on. It will happen for you one day (soon I hope), i'm sure of it :)

    Night ladies :)

gizmodo, I have also just finished my last pack of pills and was similarly confused about how long I should wait. I asked my doctor who said that I only needed to wait until first 'real' period after coming off the pill as that makes it easier to date the pregnancy. In the end though we are too impatient and decided not to wait. I figured that either it wouldn't happen first month and I would have af to date from anyway or I would be lucky and get pg quickly but be able to work out conception from when af should have come iysyim. This is a bit of a haphazard approach though so i guess the proper way to do it would be to wait until you get first af.
  • Hi all. Well Af turned up at midnight on Friday night. Myself and OH were slightly dissapointed but I think this has helped realise that it doesn't just happen and it has to be worked at.

Welcome Cady, I would also wait a couple of days and test again if af doesn't show.

I can't wait to get bding now and hope af goes away soon.

    Sticky babydust to everyone.
