Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas.
Sorry to hear it didn't happen Hayley. The last day or two of a cycle are such a rollercoaster of emotion, aren't they! I always feel elated and then miserable, and then when af arrives I feel very deflated.
I still feel like I'm not pg this time - I haven't been symptom spotting at all this month. Had some spotting last night (more discolouration of cm than anything), and it reminded me I'm on cd24 today, of a 25 day cycle (going by positive OPK on 15th).
Anyway, Cedrickerry and Elastigirl - I'm itching to hear if you get BFPs - keeping my fingers crossed!

AF arrived for me yesterday. Not really surprised as I certainly didn't feel PG this month.
Trying to plan BDing around OH's shifts next month. It's a flippin nightmare as it seems that OVing magically coincides with him working nights! To be honest I think he thought one month of trying would mean 'bob's your uncle' and I'd be pregnant!
As a total aside a lady at work asked me to hold her baby today and I just totally melted- quite funny as all my male colleagues were laughing at me as I was so chuffed! Really brightened my day.
Fingers crossed elastigirl and cedrickerry. Let us know how it goes.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Morning all,
Feeling very unsettled today. DH is working and I'm on cd25 of (I think) 25. My bbs don't feel as swollen and achey as they did yesterday, so I have a nasty feeling af is just about to arrive.
Hope all the 2ww-ers and the af-just-arrived-ers are all ok. Hope the rest of you are getting in as much bd-ing as poss over the festive season! :rotfl:

Hi everyone, well I am going to own up!! I have POAS twice so far whilst waiting for AF to arrive, once on Xmas Morning and this morning.
Not even a sign of a line so im sure im not pg but as they are only cheap ebay tests I keep thinking I might as well do one. My cycle was 34 days last month and I am on CD34 today, but my body might still be adjusting from coming off the pill a couple of months ago. I am going to be patient now and wait for AF to arrive. TBH I dont really feel pg but then I dont feel due on either!! Cant help but wish my cycle was a bit shorter too!!
Hope you all had a lovely Xmas, its nice and frosty again here today and I've walked the dogs this morning, its great cos they dont get muddy when its like this!! :jBaby Toby born 17th Nov 09 :j0 -
Hi well i am a bit confussed as did another test today with a cheaper one and got a BFN. But the confussing bit is our fault as we just wanted to see what would happen if we re -tested the failed clearblue i know this is not reliable in any way now but it was positive
No sign or feelings of AF arriving so i will wait untill i am a week late and re-test again on new years day.

Hi
I am new to here so hello everyone.
I am 35 and never had children my husband to be is 43 and has a 17 year old daughter. We are getting married in February in Jamaica. When we get back we plan to start TTC.
So I wondered if anyone can give me any advice as I am will be an older first timer....
1 - How long do you think it will take for the pill to come out of my system
2 - Are there any vitamins etc...you think I should take now in preperation.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thank you

Hey Penny - welcome to the thread!
I think it varies in how long the pill takes to get out of your system - you can have a fertile 'spike' straight after you stop taking it from what I've heard.
As for the vitamins - folic acid is the most important. I take Tesco vitamins for pregnancy, but there are loads on the market. You'll get the right vitamins in the right quantities for ttc with one of these, and they won't contain vitamin A, which I think is one to avoid to some extent...
Welcome again and good luck!

Thanks Shelly & hayley11.
It's nice to have other people to talk to about it all. I'm such an impatient person & waiting until the 7th to see if AF turns up or not is killing me already! We went out today to buy a pregnancy test ready & let our DD chose & she wisely went with a First Response Twin pack so that her impatient Mummy can test a whole 6 days early :rotfl:
I'm trying to decide whether it's pointless to test on the 1st which is the full 6 days early as the box says its only 62% accurate at this point! My OH says that it doesn't matter if it's a waste & that we can use the 2nd one closer when AF is due but they are so expensive I feel it's not very Money Saving!
Hayley11 - Maybe we are doing better on the BD'ing front than I was giving us credit for! I'm glad you don't think I'm too mad :cheesy: I guess everone has their own plans of exactly why & when they want to get pregnant. Yes you're right to have a baby before next Christmas you would need to be pregnant by March at the latest. However my DD was due around Christmas but didn't turn up for another 13 days so the best laid plans & all that :rotfl: I also spent the Boxing Day in hopistal as I got a kidney infection which was trying to induce labour!
We would love a September or October baby as that coincides with mine & OH's birthday & November wouldn't be too bad but I want to try & avoid a December baby as it's so close to Christmas & my DD's birthday. So we have all our fingers & toes crossed.
The whole TTC thing is very exciting! Last time we didn't take it too seriously as we weren't in a rush & thought it would take 6 months or so but then 4 weeks later we were pregnant so I missed out on all this over-analysing, planning & predicting lol.
Penny35 - I think how long the pill takes to come out of your system varies from person to person. I have friends who missed 2 pills & got pregnant so they weren't even effectively off of it. With my DD I got pregnant after 3 months off of the pill - we had been using other contraceptive methods for the first 2 months. I think the doctors tend to advise you are off of it for 6 months so that your body is able to get back to a normal cycle & it makes it easier to work out your feertile times. We are trying again now & I have been off of the pill for 3 months again so we will see.
Baby dust to everyone.

Hiya all, hope you had fab Xmases, any news on elastigirl and cedrickerry's results yet??
I just realised that AF is due sometime this week and I haven't even had sore ( . )( . ) yet - I always get this at least a week before I'm due.
On the downside, I will be reallly surprised if I am pg as we've barely BD'd this month as I've been ill for 3 weeks of it - sprung a rib yesterday from coughing so much, I am now in agony and can barely breath let alone anything else. Not sure I can handle it if I end up having both sore ribs and AF at the same time.0
