Hi all, I first posted on the TTC thread earler on in the year (summer) saying that although I wasn't actually ready to ttc I was enjoying reading all your posts and was picking lots of useful tips and info up along the way for when the time was right for me..well me and hubby have agreed that now is the right time to try :D AF is iminent (I'm talking overnight) so tommorow will be my CD1. For the past 6months Ive been keeping a close eye on my monthly cycles and what my body does so Im more than ready and clued up. My mum very sadly died 8weeks ago-it is this that has made me realise that life is too short and we should just 'get on with it' because it I am fully aware that it may not happen straight away. Also we,the family could all do with something to look forward to now. So Im off to Boots later in the week for a few of the digi pg tests!
Oh, I have a question, wondering if anyone would know the answer?...IF I fall pg straight away, I will be 4months pregnant at the time we have a family holiday booked to Florida in May, I know the standard 20week scan can sometimes reveal the babys sex,but I won't be far enough on in the pg for that, but can a 4d scan be done earlier than 20weeks to reveal the sex?? We would like to find out the sex of the baby before we go on holiday so I can go baby clothes shopping whilst there!
Congratulations to those with BFPs and my heart really goes out to those who are still trying.

Hello and welcome to the thread.

You sound like you're very organised! It's good that you know your cycle already, and I hope it happens for you soon. I would advise you to be relaxed and patient about it, but I never am, so I'll not bother! :rotfl:

As for the 20wk scan question, you might get more info on the pregnancy thread, but I found some info on here: http://www.treasures.co.nz/sex-of-baby.html

    Hope that helps,

hey elsticgirl, i had pink CM before my BFP, so don;t rule anything out just yet, i was convinced that the pink stuff meant the witch was on her way but it turned out to be implantation bleed and an early christmas present! Fingers crossed for you!

Hi Helen sorry to hear about your mum x
They can often see the sex at 12 week scan (but it's more accurate at 20 weeks)
I found out the sex of my daughter at 11 week nuchal scan and with my son at the 12 week scan.
There were no 4d scan's when I was pg but I'm pretty sure that you can have these before 20 weeks - ask on the pregnancy thread as Annie suggests.
Bearing in mind though that they can get the sex wrong at any of the scans!

Congrats to all the BFP's I've missed and happy christmas to you all as I'm off for chrimbo shortly x

Ladies! Help me decide! I am due my AF on Saturday so I was wondering whether to do a test tomorrow...just in case I am and it picks it up early? What do you think? I don't think i'll be really upset if i'm not but it would be such a nice pressie for us and my parents if I am. Ive got a couple of boots digital ones, i've got the stick ones off ebay as well but would they pick it up early?

I'm probably not even pregnant, I keep symptom spotting though and it's very bad!! My boobs are soooo sore and I don't get sore boobs when i'm not on my pill, i've been having mild cramping for about a week. I've had a cracking headache for a few days. And i'm being a right moody little mare, seriously I keep yelling at my OH and I never yell, I usually do the silent treatment thing!

My name is Hayley...and I am a symptom spotter :o :rotfl:

    Thanks and Merry Christmas

    Hi Hayley.

I am one of the very very few who won't test until at least a few days late. So my advice is to wait until you are late :D

Hi Hayley - I think I'd wait to test too. I know I'm usually a real POAS addict, but I've not really felt like it this month (only just about remembered to do my OPK's even!), and it's been much more relaxed. I don't think I'm pg this cycle, and I'm finding I have no desire to POAS, and it's a real relief, to be honest. The last few months have been so stressful, it's felt like a weight has been lifted!

Having said that, I really do hope you get your bfp when you test! There's been some good news on the other thread today, so we're on a roll! :T

    Merry Christmas everyone!
