Trying For a Baby II

Was you offered the tablets? I can't remember what they were called but I had them the first time and I honestly wouldn't advise them for anyone!!
I had to have a D&C in the end anyway as they didn't work properly.
Second time I opted straightaway for the D&C.
No I wasn't offered them and I wouldn't have taken them - have heard too many stories like yours where they didn't work properly
In fact I think you gave me advice on my thread when I was contemplating whether to let it happen naturally so thanks x
I was offered the ERPC and had it the same day on the first occasion (had gone in for 12 week scan and no heartbeat and they had seen the heartbeat at 8 weeks previously so there was no questioning that one)
With the 2nd one - had to wait a week and go back for another scan to confirm there had been no growth as the sac and fetal pole measured approx for 5 weeks so they couldn't take my word for it dates wise (would have been about 9 weeks though so there was no doubt in my mind)
It's a crap thing to happen and I hope Jennynoo is able to get on with things soon!0 -
What is an ERPC and what is the difference between that and the D&C (which I think is the vacuum thing). I think, as I'm bleeding, that I might just be able to let it happen naturally without it taking too long.

Not much difference Jenny - ERPC is evacuation of contents of conception and D&C is dilation and curretage (I think I spelled that wrong!)
Basically they are the same thing - you go under general anaethetic and they do the hoover thing (as the consultant said to me)
You are in and out of hospital the same day.
They will be quite happy to let you go away and let it happen naturally I'm sure but they won't be able to tell you how long it might take and how heavy bleeding might get etc...
Personally for me I wanted to get it over with and not have the possibility of it dragging on - also in favour of the ERPC most women are more favourable to conception after having one so for me that was another consideration x0 -
Jennynoo - I have my fingers crossed for you, i can only imagine how awful the waiting to know must be, my thoughts are with you..
AnnieM - soooo.....did you do the test this morning? Was is positive? I'm dying to know!!
My end, I'm having a bit of a moan really, this is our first official month without protection of any kind and it feels like OH has got cold feet all of a sudden, he's not keen on getting down to the act at all now and i don't want to make a big deal of it because i don;t want to put pressure on him and make it worse but I can;t get pregnant if we don't do it!!! I've been waiting for this for so long I couldn;t bear for him to get cold feet now and i have to go back to waiting again....I know there's nothing you guys can do but I just want to cry...
Hope you're all ok, or at least doing better than I am!
Once again I'm glad I'm not the only one with a human OH. However, despite mine's low self esteem (if you remember he is "fat and ugly") seems eager for the BDing over next week (Due to OV on 11th) lets hope I can keep him keen

So sorry to hear your news, Jennynoo. Hope tomorrow goes ok for you.
Bad news from me too, I'm afraid. I knew when I had a shower this morning and my boobs were no longer swollen that af was on her way. I warned DH that he should expect some bad news, and put painkillers in my bag.
Unfortunately, an hour later af was in full swing, really heavy, but not too painful (thank goodness).
I realised it means I was a bit out in my calculations, and I must have ov'd the exact day I got a positive on my OPK, so this was a 24 day cycle, rather than the 25 day one I was expecting. (I calculate from if I wake up with af, or she is in full flow by noon then it's cd1).
I have just done a pg test, as I wanted to know if maybe it was another chem pg, with being so heavy and also quite clot-y, but absoultely no line on a 25mIU test, so I figure probably I wasn't even pregnant.
All of which leaves me with a really big question: What on EARTH was the spotting last weekend, the salivating and metallic taste (still there), and the heartburn yesterday about???!!!

Hi AnnieM, so sorry to hear your news, I really had high hopes for you. Was the spotting after bd? Maybe you were just a bit too rough? If you've recently had a normal smear test there probably isn't anything to worry about. Sorry I can't help more.

Hi Jenny,
The spotting was a week after our last bd. I did have a terrible cold last week - maybe I popped a blood vessel when I sneezed or something like that. Or maybe I'm not used to quite that much concentratd bd-ing, and my insides were a bit 'chafed'. lol
Ashamed to say I haven't had a smear test in ages (it's complicated - there was a legitimate reason so please don't all yell at once) but I will book one asap.
