Trying For a Baby II

When you and your OH have BD'd, what do you do straight afterwards? I grab some tissue and run to the toilet...should I be waiting a bit longer to give the little guys chance to swim up there??I've heard about some women who lie with their legs up against the headboard afterwards...do people really do that? Should I be doing that?
My next AF is due on the 27th...i'm gonna do a test on Christmas Day, it'd be such a nice christmas present for my mum & dadI know it's very unlikely that I will be preg this month, it's my first "real" month of trying.
Baby dust xx
If its around ov time I stuff tissue between my legs and lay there for a few mins before going to the loo, sometimes with a pillow under my hips, sometimes not.
If we are just bding because we want to....ie too early or late to be fertile...I still put tissue there but go to the loo straightaway......thats after I have straightened the duvet though....hate getting back into a messy bed :rotfl:
I hate to be doom and gloom but having been there I'd seriously consider telling anyone if you get a BFP until 3 months have gone.
I know millions of pg's go to plan but also the same amount do not.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Telling people on here has been great though, the support is amazing. And telling my family wasn't so bad as they are very supportive. My boss I had to explain why I was off work so much and my yoga teacher I told in case I needed to do anything different. Couldn't really have managed without telling those people even if I didn't want to.

I've just been reading "Get pregnant faster" by a fertility doc working in Cambridge. She says that healthy sperm get to the neck of the cervix within 5 minutes of the deed, so not to dash off to the loo immediately afterwards. Less healthy sperm take 40-50 minutes, but an egg fertilised by one of these is much more likely, according to her, to lead to a miscarriage, so she says there is no benefit in propping your feet up to help the process, as you want to encourage only the good sperm on their way.
Very interesting book with lots of advice. Much better (Imo) than TCOYF as it contains all the same CM info, but a lot more about diet, positions and timing/frequency, as well as advice on male fertility as well as female.
I just ordered this book on your advice and should get it tomorrow
CD10 today and longing for ov to come (CD18 last cycle I ov'd so a bit to wait I think....) geting very impatient now (taps foot incessently!)
Jennynoo, are they going to do another US scan to see what is going on and if your empty sac may have changed at all? I hope you haven't got an ectopic, they may suggest a laproscopy to check depending on what conclusion they come to from the HCGs etc (one doctor said that it is difficult to find ectopics on an ultrasound, but in my experience I have heard conflicting information for different doctors!).0 -

I had to tell 2 people at work and that was the minimum as I work with pharmaceutical actives sometimes which can be teratogenic (harmful if you are pg or generally just harmful to reproductive bits) so I wanted to be able to say I am not doing certain samples (I thought that was more important than anything else) so I then told my mum before so she knew before work did. Once it all started to go wrong then I didn't care who knew.
Next time I will have to tell work again and hence my parents, but anyone else will be waiting till I get all big and bumpy!0 -
If I get a BFP next week (I really hope....., but I am not sure if it is ever going to happen), I will be telling my in-laws at Christmas as we are spending 2 weeks there this year. Also, if something would go wrong while I am there, she is a doctor (although retired), but could help us with getting to the hospital, etc.
I am not sure if I will tell my parents yet, maybe have a surprise flight home one weekend and tell them in person instead of the phone...
If no BFP, then once we are back to UK after Christmas, we wil be knocking on the doctor's door....Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

I don't really know, the doctor didn't say much really. She just said she would do another scan to check everything and then have a chat. I didn't want to ask much on the phone because I'm at work. I don't think it will be eptopic as I have no pain and the bleeding is getting heavier so surely that is a normal miscarriage?Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Oh yes, I'm all for telling you ladies on here about BFP's and telling the boss if your work could be harmful but I wouldn't tell my parents until I was 3 months gone, even if I have to tell anyone else, I still wouldn't tell my parents.
With my first pg I told my parents, brother and my line leader (who was also a good friend) at work so that I didn't have to do the heavy lifting.
With my second pg it was easier as I wasn't working at the time so we told no-one.
It was much easier to tell people I had had a mc the second time as no-one knew.
Each to there own, these are just my feelings on the subject:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Jennynoo - sorry you didn't get good news x
Hopefully there will do a scan and if the egg sac, fetal pole is still there and hasn't grown they might offer you an ERPC - I was offered this or to go home and let nature take it's course so to speak but I decided against as there's no knowing quite when and how long that will take if you have a missed miscarriage.
It's a very individual decision but personally the first time this happened to me I was like you and keen to get on and try again x
Re the ectopic - I am not sure how easy they are to see on a scan but there are other symptoms with this type of pregnancy - a friend of mine had one and associated symptoms are chronic pain in the side and shoulder and sometimes sudden heavy bleeding - besides the fact that they've seen a pregnancy in the womb in your case makes it highly unlikely x
Be good to yourself and take care x0 -

Was you offered the tablets? I can't remember what they were called but I had them the first time and I honestly wouldn't advise them for anyone!!
I had to have a D&C in the end anyway as they didn't work properly.
Second time I opted straightaway for the D&C.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Aww Jenny, so sorry, hope they give you a conclusive answer tomorrow so you can come to terms with it and move on. Or you can be happy that you are still pregnant and relax a bit
I'm definitely going to stay lay down for a good few minutes afterwards from now on then, give those little swimmers the best chance:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies
