Another little earner for Ryanair

seems to be common on flights - we were coming back with Thompsons this summer - 2 x cups of tea was something like £3.60 - we only had a 20euro note (but had £s in the hand baggage in the overhead) - and were given something like £8.30 back in change.Bern :j0

on their website, tariff of charges...a baggage charge of 30 Euros is shown as £250

yes ryanair don't like you paying cash for overweight bags, but if you thrust the right money at them and tell them you have no cards,im sure they will accept it, well hopefully they would, i have done it on several occasions without problem.
thanks snake for an honest rip off moan that incuded you had a good flight and was satisfied with it, the usual theme is hatred and venom towards ryanair over a few quid0 -

In Italy they were charging people extra for paying in cash.0 -
Just had my CC bill which showed an interesting point about Ryanairs (legal?) way of charging. 12 hours before flying I bought some items from a shop, my CC company charged me an exchange rate of 1.26 Euros to the pound. The next item on the bill was from Ryanair, but it was not for the 60 Euros that I had been charged, it was for £50.50. If they had charged 60 Euros the CC cmpany would have charged me £47.61.
In effect they are saying they charge 60 Euros, but charged in sterling at a rate that THEY decide is correct. I really do question the legality of this, surely they should have either charged £50.50 or 60 euros & they should have told me what they were charging at the time!
Sorry my old mucca. If you'd been on this forum for longer, you'd know this was first raised two years ago.

Try paying in a UK motorway services in euros, see if things are any different - yes, worse, £9.98 gets £24.61 change from €50. So what, serves me right for leaving my debit card at home
By the way, credit cards give you a published exchange rate, then most still take 2 to 3.5% fees on top; perhaps it's their fault as well as Ryanair. You might ask for about 68 pence back, wasting 20 minutes on the call0 -
Sometimes the stupidity of people on here offends my sensibility.
I've wasted many valuable breaths of my life reading your post three times and finally I think I understand that you're complaining about losing three quid.
I feel cheated.
Like your name suggests, you really are a Nob aren't you jocki? Why would you read something that offends you that much three times? I agree with the original poster and three quid is still three quid. Why should they not post about it. It is the little things in life that we get screwed out of that add up to huge things. My great-grandfather; who lived to be 103; used to say "You look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves." I always look after my pennies and three pounds is a great deal of pennies.
Sometimes the stupidity of people on here offends my sensibility too!!!!!!0 -
OP - Please let us know how you get on with the credit card company. There have been a few similar posts recently about Ryanair and DCC but no-one has come back to confirm if that's what it was and what the banks' attitude to it is.0

Snake 16 your post was much appreciated by far more people than the resident R/A Patron Saints. I just wish they would remember why this great site exists. AND IT IS NOT FOR THEIR PATHETIC INPUT.0

Well,each to their own.
Personally I don't see the point in getting wound up about three quid but then I see from your username that you may well be Welsh and as is common knowledge the Welsh are in the Olympic gold medal class when it comes to whingeing about nothing so three quid is really going to get your goat !0
