Another little earner for Ryanair

Its as simple as that!
It's anything but that simple. :rolleyes:The MSE Dictionary

Again, my point appears to be missed here. I flew with RA & was perfectly happy with their flights I even accept (begrudgingly) that I "fell" into their little trap & was charged 60 euros for the privilege.
What I am perturbed about is the 60 euros/£55 issue, which I feel that needs to be looked into to confirm that RA have acted in a totally legal manner. I will be contacting my CC company tomorrow for confirmation.0 -
Recently flew from Girona with Ryanair to be ripped off by them to the tune of 60 euros overweight bag, even though our total bag weight was well under (ok I know, read the small print first). Still it wont happen again.
Just had my CC bill which showed an interesting point about Ryanairs (legal?) way of charging. 12 hours before flying I bought some items from a shop, my CC company charged me an exchange rate of 1.26 Euros to the pound. The next item on the bill was from Ryanair, but it was not for the 60 Euros that I had been charged, it was for £50.50. If they had charged 60 Euros the CC cmpany would have charged me £47.61.
In effect they are saying they charge 60 Euros, but charged in sterling at a rate that THEY decide is correct. I really do question the legality of this, surely they should have either charged £50.50 or 60 euros & they should have told me what they were charging at the time!
I seem to recall that they would not accept cash either, I wonder why? maybe it stops them adding a further 6% to the bill.
Sometimes the stupidity of people on here offends my sensibility.
I've wasted many valuable breaths of my life reading your post three times and finally I think I understand that you're complaining about losing three quid.
I feel cheated.0 -

my sentiments exactly !!!!
....suppose this is a money saving forum :rolleyes:0 -
Whatever your thoughts are about Ryanair, I agree with the OP.....It isn't just 3 quid though is it? Not if they are doing this to everyone. It soon adds up. I also agree whether it's 3p, £3 or £3000, it's still the principle, not the money and at the very least, sharp practice.I would also get in touch with the credit card company like others say.As for not flying with them in future, that's a choice for the OP, but he HAS flown with them and it sounds like he was ripped off, that's the problem he came to this forum with.We flew with Ryanair to Italy a couple of years ago and my friends daughter was charged excess baggage with Ryanair on the outbound journey, but funnily enough the case weighed less (with more in it due to presents, purchases etc) with Jet2 on the return journey! If we'd known..... blah, blah. For the record I always weigh mine.Caz0

You chose to waste your valuable time reading it, nobody forced you
.
But as I have stated it is a principle thing, if a guy sticks a knife in your ribs & demands money & you hand over £3000, you would go screaming to the police in an attempt to get justice, but if you only lost £3 I suppose you would just walk away, shrugging you shoulders saying "hey !!!!!!, I can afford to lose £3", I don't think so, you would expect justice to be exactly the same, £3 or £3000, the robbery still took place.
I am in a lucky position that I do not have to worry about the £3, nor indeed do I have to fly with RA due to cost alone, it just suited me at the time. But I just hate being robbed/misled & that is what bugs me & I am sure that if, as you imagine, I am stupid, I doubt if I would have picked up on this little scam;). Indeed, I am a lot of things but I aint stupid:T0 -

Again, this is a different scenario, still a rip off of course, but at least it is transparent. RA stated the price was 60 euros, never was there an offer to pay in sterling at any rate. If they had said, X euros or Y pounds, the decision would have been made by me.0 -
As some people have previously said this sounds like dynamic currency conversion. If it is then complain to your credit card co. as you were not offered any alternative and this is against the CC T&Cs. This happened to me in Spain a couple of years ago and I ended up getting over £150 refunded.Something Really Interesting0
