Another little earner for Ryanair

I was going to just let this go as a) it is only £3 (OK Nobjockie, happy now!) & b) my time is worth more to me than that. But as a couple of users have expressed an interest in the outcome & because I am still annoyed from a principle point of view I decided to take it further.
My CC company have confirmed (I did not doubt it), that RA claimed £50.58, never mentioning that the amount charged was 60Euros & that the transaction took place in Spain. The next stage is a complaint in writing & this is in hand.
To those interested, I will keep you informed. To those who want to abuse people on here, please do not look again.

LesD, thanks for an interesting link, unfortunately, as already suggested, the trail went cold & nothing seems to have been done, so I am keen to see if anything can be done now.
To those who keep reminding me that "it's only £3, get a life" I believe this little bit of creative accounting is possibly earning RA tens of thousands of dodgy pounds a year, to an individual, £3, to a customer base £?,000.0 -

True, true - but creative accounting by Ryanair has enabled them to take millions of people on very cheap flights all over Europe.
And without Ryanair's massive clout in the LCC market you and I would still be paying rip-off prices to travel short-haul distances.
And do you know what makes me laugh - every single time I get a Ryanair flight I see people who have got up in the middle of the night and been prepared to travel to obscure airports all over Europe and then blow all the money they've saved on a round of drinks and some sandwiches on the plane because they haven't got the gumption to bring their own.

This is becoming common practice, certainly in France and Spain. I recently hired a car from Avis, in Spain. They gave me an estimate for a tank of petrol, in case I chose not to return the car full, this came to 76.77 Euros but the rental agreement says " I confirm that I was offered the choice to pay in Euros but chose to be billed in £s (£63.81) at 1.20E/£ ". At no time was I offered the choice. Also in Auchan supermarket in Calais if you pay by card, they thrust the chip and pin terminal in front of you offering Euros or ££s but no exchange rate so you either have to gamble or hold the queue up while you calculate their rate, I usually just opt for paying in Euros as, even after bank charges, I normally get a better rate.
Good luck in your dispute but I feel sure that if you confirmed the amount, either by signing a credit card voucher or Chip and Pin, which would have shown the amount, you have authorised the amount and it's probably too late now.0 -

I did confirm the amount, 60 Euros!!!! That's what it said on the receipt & as I was using a Nationwide CC, there was no surcharge anyway.0 -

I thought you said that earlier, is that a crdit card receipt or a hand written or till type of receipt? If it is a credit card receipt, then I would say you have a valid complaint and would love to know how you get on keep us posted.0 -

Indeed ..... Particularly given that the OP has clearly stated that the transaction was in Euros, the CC receipt was in Euros and the CC statement appeared as £GBP.
