it's change for changes sake!
the old format was relaxed pretending to be formal...
the new format is formal pretending to be relaxed...
it just doesn't work - there are no redeeming features...
at the precise time there should be good financial programs, we get this... I won't be watching again...0 -
It is now just like a bland daytime chat show. Today's special guest was PY Gerbeau and what a treat that was."When the Government borrows, the citizen has to save".
Machiavellii0 -
I watched a recording of yesterdays prog and it was dire. However a lot of money must have bene spent on the awful set and also a lot was packed into the program, (Obviously they had people with low attention spans in mind). MOst of the content was dumbed down rubbish but important stuff like the stock market report was covered in about 10 seconds.
I notice that the awful set even had shimmering dynamic effects.. It looked like visions of hell during a hangover.0 -
Just received a reply from my complaint, (notice their spelling of "persevere" in the first paragraph ? an extra letter r.), ; -
Dear ******
Thanks for your e-mail regarding 'Working Lunch'.
I'm disappointed to learn that you're not impressed with the new format and also acknowledge that you feel the programme could be vastly improved by reverting back to how it used to be as well as appointing new presenters. I also note, with concern, that you will only perservere with the programme for another couple of weeks before it loses you as a viewer.
When a programme has been on air for many years, we feel it's necessary to re-vamp the style of the set and format of the programme. This will often include the introduction of new presenters. I'm not aware of any plans just at the moment to go back to the previous format.
Whilst I appreciate your opinion that you feel our new presenters, Declan and Naga, do not have any presentation skills, all of our programme contributors are appointed on the basis of their experience and talent, and we do not engage any presenter unless we consider that he or she is competent and possesses the necessary ability to meet the considerable demands the particular programme or broadcast may make.
Having said that, it is a rare television personality of any kind who meets the approval of everyone in our vast and varied audience, and from the heavy correspondence which we receive it is clear that viewers' opinions on them do vary considerably.
It's clear that you feel very passionately about this subject overall and I'd like to assure you that I've registered your complaint on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's circulated to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, channel controllers and other senior managers.
Thanks again for taking the time to get in touch and I do hope you will give the programme another chance.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.
Regards
Sarah Wilson

Yes, and me, even though I emailed my complaints to the Working Lunch addy AND the BBC complaints department.
It just sounds like the usual BBC's 'just pay your licence fee and shut up' policy towards viewers.
I hope many more will email and add their voice of dissent to what is now a joke of a programme.

They ignored my complaint as well...indeed I am amazed that anybody actually got a reply.0

I thought it was poor last week, but much better this.
Plus, the lass that co-presents is starting to wear some sexy numbers so I'll give them a bit longer to sort it out.

>the lass that co-presents is starting to wear some sexy numbers<
LOL. Getting 'em oot for the lads really shows the programme producers are desperate.
I shall now be [STRIKE]watching[/STRIKE]leering on the iPlayer.0
