Candygirl, take a look at this: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/HomeAndCommunity/BuyingAndSellingYourHome/RentingAHome/DG_4001394
You may find that the landlord has to provide some form of heating for the baby.....

  • Evening all,

just done a quick skim through so can't remember loads.

Anniestar, what a lovely post this morning - I'm so glad you enjoyed Level42 (note to self to put onto ipod). Music can make you feel happy or sad, or just remember certain times/places, and I love to sing (even though I'm flat & out of tune, lol) especially driving along in the car. I don't care how stupid I look, I'm enjoying myself!! It really lifts my mood. I'm glad you share your thoughts & news with us - can't wait to hear your secret - and when are you heading to join us down here on the south coast then????

I agree about the tissues for Tess of the D'Urbervilles - I watched it too (luckily my mum stopped herself from telling me the ending just as she realised I didn't know the story).

Candygirl, glad your DD has found somewhere - it will be nice for her to be independent but nearby. I agree about the oil-filled rads & they can be plugged into a timer so they don't have to be on all the time.

Mioliere, how long did your energy monitor take to come through from EON? My switch was completed last week, so hopefully it will appear soon.
MSDiva, sounds like an eventful few days - I only seem to have made it on here in fits & starts the past few days. Glad you're back :)

Early night for me as back to Uni tomorrow!!!!! I can't believe the holiday is now over & it's ready for a manic 9 months. Feels like I'm on a rollercoaster, balanced on the top, ready to go hurtling downwards out of control... I'll see you all next summer, lol!!

Hope all those feeling coldy/fluey or generally rough or down feel better soon.
    Night all
    xx

    Evening all,

What a day! Ulick had to have a blood test this am to determine his level of warfarin for next 3 days...no appointment, just turn up to ward he had been in and one of his consultant's team would do the job...yes, but 3 hours later, by which time I was almost sitting on him to keep him there...result at 7.30 that he should stay on level he had been on for since he came home...talk about bear with a sore head ( sorry Sybil!) and of course it was all my fault! Has just gone to bed, so I have been up with 1) his nighttime tablet, 2) his glasses, 3) his book and 4) a glass of water...should be good for my weight!

Anniestar...what a lovely post, although I could murder you for whetting our appetites about 'something wonderful'...go tell us, we will tell NO ONE...honest.

Haribo...you could do the decent thing and give us a laugh...I need one, please

Beth...glad that you enjoyed your mother's visit...any chance you could do something about my washing mountain...in your spare time.

JackieO....you continue to be an inspiration

Candy....would endorse the oil filled radiator heater...not particularly easy on electricity but very efficient and easy...nothing to clean so one less chore for DD when baby arrives. Hugs to your dad, who seems to continue to be so positive.

Sybil...you are doing so well...you should compare some of your earlier posts and see how positive you are now....especially since you stopped calling yourself silly. Can you not reach your doctor by phone, really you should be able to contact him/her when you have had such a bad reaction to the higher dosage...I know how rotten that can be so am concerned for you...good that you managed to get out...see how good you are!

D &DD...hope that things are easier for you now.

Hester....take care of yourself...that is occupational injury and I am sure that somewhere there is a law that prohibits them from sacking you because of a work related injury...any luck with the job search?

Hugs to all in need or want, and congratulations to all who are celebrating.

I am off in a few minutes to collect DS1 and family...I should be coming back from Sardinia on their flight, at least it is on time so far, they are off back to Cork at 6 am as DS has to be in London to-morrow.

Sleep well all, and thank you for being my friends

:o Seeing as it's you and you've had a rough day.....

It was OH's 40th on Sunday so we hung balloons saying "Happy 40th" on the front gate yesterday. I live in a very small town where people seem to know me even when I don't really know them  so I was a little surprised when a man approached me in a shop today to wish ME a happy 40th. He had seen the balloons, saw me in the shop and worked out that I lived there. So he put 2 and 2 together and made 40 and ignoring my youthful good looks and vibrantly young personality he assumed that I was 40. He got short shrift and was informed that I was 35 actually before he skulked away. ;)

I have to say that PINK has been waiting 35 years to hear something like this. Apparantly she's delighted that I must only look 5 years younger than her and not 10. I've had to wait till she's gone off line to post or she'll probably make it a sticky.

Happy to have made your day PINK. I hope you have a better sleep tonight. ;)

That goes for you too Churchie.

Haven't kept up with the daily and too tired (and Old obviously  ) to post about my day so I'll just say....

Thinking of Marie and Ulick, Candy and her Mum and Dad, Smoky, Beth and her brothers and JackieO. xxxx

And Candy I would definitely enquire about the landlord not providing heating. I had the twins in a rented house when we first moved here and only a coal fire to heat us. It was miserable. Please watch out for the running costs of some of those heaters. ;)

    Night night.

    Haribo x

Edited to add. Sorry your FIl is no better Twit. xxx
