Sympathies to those with carp weather. Looking at my side bar this morning it is only showing 2 deg in Cheltenham and 4 deg at home, and it is only early October. I keep thanking Martin in my head for the tip to get going with Scottish Power fixed until Mar 2011 and the £75 Quidco last March time.

Managed to see the results of Strictly last night on a neighbours TV, I must agree with the judges. Then played cards. DS & GF went out for their last meal alone, they will go out with us tonight, but were back by 10.15 pm.

Just a little "cat-licking" today, will start the clean up on Wednesday when they have gone back. Everyone else is still in the land of nod here.

((((hugs))))) To All, Esp. Pen-Pin hope the hospital visit goes OK, and Smoky - please take things a little easier, M-M & Ulrich.

    :hello: everyone.
    Take care DG

N.B. Moiliere - I keep reading about the Energy Monitor - where were they from? Look after that toe!

morniong all - was hiding from the whirlwind that is the two girls getting rady for school and w*rk - all quiet now.

i forgot to say that coming back from shopping yesterday i found a leaflet from the british nasty party in the letter box. It's annoyed me no end and comes days after a very nasty racist attack near us. Mr Caring Sharing suggests I organise a Love Music Hate Racism gig locally because he likes to give me things to do - i don't think I could do that but will contact some people who can today.

Will pop into see dd afte w*rk and see how she's doing. we do meet each other in the morning ussually but it's a bit of a rushed affair with dgs on his way to school and me on my way to w*rk. Anyway have good days everyone

Hi everyone. Not so cold this morning, thank goodness; the sky is half blue, half grey here with the sun trying to come out. I have washing I'd like to hang out on the line so I hope it stays dry.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth and her family, Pippa's DH and Mum, Ulick and all who are still struggling with the cold going round.

Good luck with the hospital visit, PenPin.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Smoky - I second RedRuby's advice about the painter's mate - it's brilliant stuff and really makes skirting boards and so on look 'finished'.

RedRuby - any news on your nephew? I haven't caught up with yesterday's thread yet.

Elona - I was glad to see Gary go, too. I'm not that mad on Mark Foster either, although everyone seems to rave on about him being a Greek god! Can't see it myself. Austen has amazed me because he just doesn't look as though he has it in him. Great to watch. My DH wants Andrew Castle to stay in simply because of Ola!

Well, I kept dozing off on the sofa last night - don't know why I'm so tired lately. I blame it on the cold weather. We had the heating on for an hour last night but a bit longer on Saturday because it was so cold here. As it's slightly warmer today, I'm hoping we don't need to put it on again for a while.

I stubbed my little toe yesterday and it's really painful now with a horrid bruise - my toe looks like a chipolata! I've stubbed it many times but never as bad as this. I think I'll have to wear sandals when I go out because it hurts to put 'closed-in' shoes on at the moment. I can still wiggle the toe so I don't think it's any more serious than bruising.

My energy monitor has arrived and we set it up on Saturday - it was quite simple to do. I expected it to be complicated. Anyway, it's very interesting seeing how much everything costs, even simple things like the hairdryer - I definitely think it will make us more conscious of the cost of running everything. I'm glad I managed to fix my gas and electricity, at least until next October. I just need to find out how to cost running a gas oven so that I can work out what my Remoska is saving me.

Tonight we have Spaghetti Bolognese for dinner with the mince bulked out with lentils. DH doesn't seem to mind slightly less meat and more lentils because I've told him they're just as good for him.

Well, I've already cleaned the bathroom, cleared up the breakfast things and put the washing on. I just need to whiz the hoover around and wash the kitchen floor and then I shall get stuck into my office work. I need to go to the Post Office a bit later so I shall get all my letters written before I do that.

    Anyway, see you all later.

Kathy intriqued by this. Is it the one from Southern electric or an offer I think I saw on the boards ?

    Morning all

Not too cold here in Kent today, and the rain has stopped :j

Off to Bluewater today to see if I can find a pair of red shoes to go with a lovely red leather bag I bought while in Spain. I want them for my DGD's christening in November. Must hang a load of washing out before I go, forecast looks dry so they should be safe. I see some of the shops have some Christmas stuff out. BHS have gone upmarket with theirs this year, amongst their choices are a talking vibrator and some chocolate willy spread with applicator    :D:D

    Have a good day all

    Morning all

Quite chilly here this morning, so the heating went on for the first time earlier. As it's blow air, there was the 'not been used in a long time' smell. It's taken the chill off the house at least, and we have the calor gas for our main heat in the livingroom, so although I couldn't hold out until the 1st November, hopefully I will still be able to keep the bills low over winter.

I will be waking the girls up at 9, and have just finished sorting out what we will be doing this morning, so need to get them motivated. Then they're at the library this afternoon, so I can pick up some milk while we're out.

Good luck at the hospital PP.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you're doing.

    Pipkin xxxx

Morning chums ,I forecast another wet day today as my joints have been telling me that I'm feeling quite old today.Have a nice trip to the hospital as I have to have a blood test before going in on Thusday for a few days .I think the Medway Maritime has more of my blood than I do lol.
then a trip to Mr T's to make sure I have all my shopping needs as I won't feel like shopping and definitely not driving next week.
I havn't a great deal to get thank goodness as I am still shopping from my freezer at the moment .College tonight, so hopefully by then my joints will have become a bit more amicable to moving. O the joys of getting old ,but the alternative is a lot worse.
My aged cousin flies back to Melbourne tonight bless her. When she arrived a couple of weeks ago she had a 27 hour flight with only a 2 hour stop over at Dubai. Bless her its more than I could do I think and she is 88
Time to get a wriggle on <<hugs to those feeling down or poorly ,there seems to be an awful lots of colds around already and its only October>>
    have a good day everyone
    Cheers JackieO xx
