Hi everyone
Been reading the last three days posts and ok, so no one missed me!I last posted on Thursday I think and shortly after I did so, my computer imploded. The only way to fix it was apparently to wipe the entire thing and start all over from scratch, loading windows and IE etc etc etc.
As you can imagine this was extremely traumatic. Yes, I do do backups but not regularly and the last one was back in March, so I have lost an entire summers work.. stories; photos of cards made; recipes collected; pictures downloaded, all my click thrus in faves that I have had to try and find again etc etc etc. All those programmes you don't realise how much you use until they aren't there any more.. plus photos. LUCKILY a huge pile of pics are still on the cam so they are rescuable. I hate to admit it but I was in tears all day friday.
Oh and then Friday/Saturday on his way home from his gig, my OH ran over a fox! It just dashed in front of him and though he braked and skidded, it was too late. He carried on driving but obviously it damaged the car cos all the water drained out and the car ground to a halt. So at 0315 on a cold night he is stuck on Haldon Hill waiting for Green Flag. Took them over an hour to get to him and he had no coat so was freezing. So we were both up til even later/earlier than normal and he then had to be up to recieve the hire car at 0930 the next day, so we are both walking around with eyes like saucers all weekend.
He spent Sunday sorting out this puter, bless him, to get it back to a semblance of how it was.
Anyway, now I am waiting for the 3rd thing to go wrong.... last month is was the loo cistern, the washing machine and the shower.. This month, computer and car...though thankfully, we haven't had to pay anything for the car.
Oh and I lost my smilies link, so if anyone can oblige... Thank you
We did cook a nice cheap chicken dish from one of the recipe links on here and it was lovely but I am so annoyed cos I had about 40 recipes all collected from a variety of threads and now I have to start all over again and find them. Thank god for lists on here and everyone who keeps them up to date! I shall be haunting the boards all day collecting recipes I guess.
Ok, just realised, there has been a third thing - my friend in America fell off his bike and smashed himself up.
Really sorry this is so long - I had a lot to say!
Will shut up now.
SO happy to be back with you all, but next time I am gone, would SOMEONE please try and miss me???:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Edited to say: kaat lady had PMed me but I only just saw it!! sistercas - I might've dreamed it, prob did cos my dreams can often be a little bizarre, but I'm sure I read somewhere that Lidl or Aldi are doing an offer on one either at the moment or in the next week or so?GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Just a quickie
Google energy monitors - there are cheaper ones around. I shall invest when back.
Diva - it wouldn't be PCW who told you to do that would it, unless the HDD failed you could have got a new HDD, re-loaded onto that and then attached the old one.
Did you ask the Techie Board?

MS Diva, what a dreadful weekend. I did wonder where you were, as you didn't start the thread over the weekend, but I see that life got the better of you.
Thank goodness you have got your pooter up and running, I should really do some back ups of my stuff, but it's one of things I never get round to doing.
Poor OH, at least he wasn't injured and you had breakdown cover.

bootsalebabe, mine is a boarder terrier too, lovely little dogs, with real character, the biggest problem I have had with mine, is that she hates other dogs, , I am finally getting to the bottom of it though, every time she barks at another dog I squirt her with water from a sports water bottle, she hates water more than she hates other dogs. Would not be without her though x0

Hi Different Corner - mine was from E.ON. I switched to them earlier this year and then recently they had an offer to fix the price and the deal included the energy monitor. I would imagine it's the same one that most of the energy companies are offering.

Thanks Kathy
Only ask because received a letter last week from Sourthern electric re next price increase - 29.2% in gas and 19.2% electric !
Checked old bills to see what plan we were on and DH had swapped us to Argos discount scheme. 10 % at Argos is no good to me, so I've swapped it to 'better plan' which apparently includes said energy monitor, as you say those teenagers need to learnDC.

Hi Chums ,
me again.I spent a happy hour and a bit sitting in the waiting room of the local blood clinic to get an inch and a half of blood removed.
You wouldn't believe it by there was actually a bit of 'blood rage' going on .Some burke decided that an hour was far too long to wait and wanted to push in front of the rest of us . A fracas developed and the perp was removed by security:eek: I know its irritating waiting about in hospitals, but they do their best and there are some seriously ill folk need treating first.
Ah well I got 'fanged in the end by a lovely young african chap who was so nice, and bless him profusely apologetic , as if it was his fault that we had to wait. That done I decided to have a bite to eat in the basement restraunt of the hospital.Excellant grub and reasonably priced as well, but I'm not keen on the tea from a machine so I had some water which cost me nothing as the counter lady said she would get me a small carafe as I have to keep my fluid levels up and I'm not keen on fizzy water ,unless its got a dollop of gin in it :rotfl: .A trundle around Mr T's and just got back with virtually all my shopping for about the next fortnight and it too was not too expensive as I managed to get a few bargains with the fruit & veggies.:j
I have a piece of pork fillet cooking very slowly on the grill which I will have for an early dinner with some salad, as I'm off to college tonight and have to leave about half past five.
Cheers all onwards and upwards

Hi All, I had my Mum and her OH to stay on thurs and they went home last night so I've been MIA. I stripped 3 beds this am and have managed to get them all line dried, smelling so fresh, I've even ironed and put them away, and remade 3 beds with other sheets.
I have spent most of my time cooking since Thurs as DM has 3 meals a day, whereas I only have 1. Took them out most days so have been shatered by time we got to bed, lots of driving as DH can't until Saturday. He is getting better but still has to have an Echo-gram on his heart, waiting for app.
DB1 Has had results and not much change in his blood count.
DB2 Has been in a bit of a state, He still hasn't told his kids about the Melanoma. WHATATWIT, Thanks for asking.
Done the BM and have a chick cass in SC. I'm aiming for a NS week apart from veg as I spent so much when DM was here.
I haven't caught up since Thurs. a.m. so will do so now and hope to pop back lter. (((((((((( to all )))))))))))))0
