Kathy intriqued by this. Is it the one from Southern electric or an offer I think I saw on the boards ?

    TIA

Hi Different Corner - mine was from E.ON. I switched to them earlier this year and then recently they had an offer to fix the price and the deal included the energy monitor. I would imagine it's the same one that most of the energy companies are offering. According to E.ON, it's worth £45. It may be worth asking your existing supplier if they can provide one for you. It's the sort of thing that every house should have, especially if they have children and need to stress just how much things cost if they are kept on unnecessarily! I find I check it every time I switch anything on - it shows how much your monthly bill would be if you kept something on all the time - all I can say is thank goodness the kettle is not on permanently! After years of nagging about filling the kettle with just the water you need, my DH has seen the price of electricity shoot up on the monitor when the kettle is on. It's great to prove a point!

Taking another break from work :o I've come over all funny and feel abit bleh. Maybe a 24hours bug or something. I find doing work in short bursts helps and I get more done (I'm a daydreamer and my mind wanders after too long) getting that monday morning feeling!

    Hello Gang,

Twice in 2 days for me posting, must be a record! I have treated myself to a day off work today, but so far I have:

Put BM on - finishes at 1.30
Put WM on and emptied it, put clean clothes on airer,
Made a cake, just waiting for it to cool so I have ice it,
    Made Lamb Stew in SC,
Shaped Beret, look very fetching with a wet beret on my head waiting for it to dry!
Just need to sew a few 'flashes' on my uniform then all my chores are done - phew maybe I should have gone to work for a rest!:rotfl:

Hugs to all those in need, try to keep warm. I am determined not to put heating on today but my fingers are cold, not good when I need to do some sewing!

    Mornin peeps
Nice and sunny here today, bit chilly but not too bad. Oh has just gone to the tip to get rid of a whole load of stuff that was too far gone to be re-cycled or passed on to the charity shops.
Then he is off to the Post Office to get MIL's pension for her.
Then "oh joy of joy's" we are going to MrM's to shop for the whole world  ....well a bit of an exageration, but it sometimes feels like it...just us, Mum and MIL.
I am so  I went to the bank last week and forgot to pay a Cheque in that I have been carrying around for ages, it was the main reason I went, best of it was I paid the others in, ooo my memory is awful sometimes :o

N9eav Ahh poor thing he must have been upset about something though.

jannieannie O dear _pale_ worth it though was'nt it to see DSS

Good luck at the hospital Pen-Pin and JackieO xx

  • Morning everyone,
I try and keep up with the daily threads but fail miserably - but thought I'd pop in and say hi anyway.:hello:

Feeling envious of all those in "not so cold today" places - hard to get out of bed this am, it was so cold.

No idea what to make for dinner tonight but so far I've put on DW, WM, BM, sent DS1 off to school dressed as an evacuee (that was a bit of a scramble yesterday), sent DS2 off to his school with letter to teacher about picking him up early to go to eye pavilion this pm, called in opticians to make appts for him and me, been to dentist for check up and had filling replaced  (at least she's started doing them without anaesthetic (sp?) ) and made appts for rest of family.

Now I'm supposed to be writing a case study but as usual am too busy hanging round here! Lol.

    Anyway, warm vibes to all.

Ha ha just when you thought you were safe..................................... Well as they say (if you don't want to read the ramblings of the truly obsessed ) look away now:rotfl:
Well it was FANTASTIC did have a carp ticket but went to the front after three or so songs:j . Great set. Not the best ever but to be honest thats nit picking. Saw loads of people from various previous jaunts(its NOT just me!!)which was great. Got astoundingly wet(but for a very very good reason)
Now a had a (very nice)PM a bit ago asking WHY I actually adore LEVEL 42 SO MUCH & I did say I would try to explain so here goes.......
Well I adore music most kinds really but LEVEL 42 well they MAKE ME HAPPY. I spend most of my time worrying, be it about money, Mark-his health etc,my family, my situation, everything really. And as I mentioned this is something that mkes me amazingly happy. When I am at a concert for that time nothing else matters I can be me and not worry about everything. Nothing else comes close. When I used to make my living as a singer I couldn't believe how fantastic it was to actually be paid for doing something I loved so much(and truth be told would have done for free)even getting changed in crummy toilets, storerooms, vans:eek: and once a glorified shed (even some decent dressing rooms occasionally) didn't change anything.
Music has always done it for me. I have been following L42 since 1983(where does the time go?) and have seen them in tiny gigs, massive gigs(Wembley Gmex etc) sobbed throughout their last ever gig at the Royal Albert Hall then small gigs as MK toured as himself without the L42 name(legal issues) then back as L42 and bigger gigs again. All in all Saturday night was gig no 53 for me.
I am really happy at the moment, but am aware that it is a fragile happiness-I know that there are things I HAVE to address my not sleeping and getting my re-occuring rash back isn't a coincidence. I WILL go to my GP but probably after the tour ends. I feel alive and energised when there is a tour on and lets face it whatever problems are in existance-well they have been here for a long time and will be waiting for me like old friends at the end of October so till then.........................................
Anyway, sorry for going on and on and for being so personal. I did think slightly berore posting exactly how I feel but as a lot of you know I have no immediate family and no close friends within the area. Am rather isolated and under quite a lot of stress. Normally i have a "happy face on to the (real) outside world here I can be totally honest.Anyway So my you are it-yes you are my friends and thats why..............(I ramble on) sorry. But very glad you are there.:T :T :T
I have something I am dying bursting and desperate to tell you all something but I can't(at the moment):shhh: :shhh: BUT...It is VERY Exciting.
By the way I have sorted out a lift from Ipswich to Brighton:D :D:D:D:D .

Anyway, am going to sort the car insurance out, cook something(Your guess is as good as mine) and do stuff.
MeanMarie hugs to you and Ulick.
Pen-Pin!!hope you feel better soon. Hope the hospital visit goes/went well.
Jannyannie hope you feel better soon.
JackieO hope your joints improve. Enjoy your class.
Candygirl hugs to you, your MUM & DAD and your DD.
Mioliere((((HUGS))))) Take care of yourself. Your toe sounds so painful hope it improves soon.
whatatwit Pardon!!!! Yes thanks I can hear-just about!! Hugs and prayers to your FIL and Uncle.
Troo. Why not try freecycle for a scanner. I LOVE your avatar.
Stefejb hugs to your DD'S I would have strangled mr caring Sharing by now. You must be a saint.
Will go for now will be back as I am doing the end of this as an edit and want to mention a couple of people and can't get the little logo things up.
Thank you for letting me open up. I feel so much better knowing that I can talk freely its a real Godsend. Thank you.
Have a great day and take care. Ann xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    morning all

i got an owl energy monitor for £30 from amazon, it was mentioned on here and a week after we got it the dailt mail did a token collect offer for one. i saved the tokens for a work mate of DH after we told him how good it was. THe owl is really easy to instal and as Molieire says it really makes you notice what you are using in your house.

busy weekend here but still feel rotten and full of cold so dont feel like ive achieved much.
putting jacket pots in for lunch as its youngest DS parents evening tonight so it will be a rush for tea. Still doing an extra shift at work but think its only for this week.

hugs to all those i need of one (promise i wont breathe my germs on you;) )

I hope everyone has a good day

    Good morning, just!

Had a friend round for coffee this morning and as he is a neat freak I thought I'd better put in a bit of effort with the house, Monday mornings it always looks like a disaster and I thought he might start hyperventilating at the state! Anyway hoovered, tidied, dejunked and binned everything the kids had left around, cleaned the bathrooms, loos, kitchen, put washing on, hung washing out, bm on with pizza dough for kids dinner, gammon sliced and ready for freezing for sarnies (bargain value gammon in Asda, about £5 for a decent sized bit and not horribly fatty either), fed animals, walked dog and think that was it! Somewhere in there I managed to wave the kids off to school as well!

Anyway we had a good catch up and gossip and now I'm going to have a browse around here and some lunch in a bit - knew I forgot something, brekkie! Then dd2 wants me to get some paint for the mask she's making for school, ds NEEDS some smellies (he's thinking Lynx, I'm thinking Poundland!), dd1 has made no demands, but then she usually tells me minutes before she needs whatever! Did see some coats in Asda for £15, quite nice 3/4 length and black, which would be great for her for school, so might see if I can find one in her size, only 14s available yesterday. dd3 requested sweets, guess if she keeps asking I'll buy some one day, lol!

Anniestar - it's great to have something that makes you forget all about real life for a while, that you can just escape into, enjoy the rest of your concerts, and I look forward to hearing your good news when you can share it with us!

Only read Annie's post so far, so will be back when I've caught up, meanwhile hugs to all in need, and congratulations as appropriate! xx

Hi everyone,I've not posted for a few days due to feeling really grotty with a throat and sore gland lurgy thing.Feeling a bit weary as not been sleeping, either shivering and freezing,or sweating like mad.DH has retreated to the safety of the spare room.Do feel a bit better this morning though, and it is a lovely day.

I'm really glad that the freezer was full of meals from bulk cooking,so I just kept pulling a meal out and re-heating in the Remoska, then slinking back to the sofa and under the fleecy blanket.

Its quite good that I've not been out to do a shop anyway-cash flow problems for DH's business due to a client not paying up- he's not happy with the quality of the glass in his new windows, says its got a haze on it,but its glass designed to keep the heat in and can be like that in a certain light, ours is the same here. It's stressing DH as his VAT is now overdue and his suppliers need paying  On a good note he has just got 2 jobs in which should keep them going till Christmas (phew).

Well DH says I should take it easy again today,so I'll go and raid the freezer for tea,and watch the last episode of Tess of the D'Urbevilles.( I remember studying that book as a set book at school 30 odd years ago)

Try and keep warm and well everyone.xxx
