This is my OH favourite starter! He used to cook this for me all the time...before we had Kids!

Stuffed mushrooms: Hollow out some button mushrooms, fill the hole with sausage meat, egg wash and breadcrumb. Deep fry until golden and then bake in oven until sausage meet is cooked (30 mins). Serve with garlic mayo and side salad. Yummy. You could also do scotch eggs? haven't got recipe but sure someone else here will help! I'm sure you can also do a sausage meat pie, but again haven't got the recipe!

Add it to stews to thicken - I like it with tomatos, white beans, green beans, onions, garlic and paprika.

Mix sausage meat with chopped onion, peppers, tomato and grated carrot. Shape into 'burgers' coat with flour and fry gently both sides till done.

Mix sausage meat with cooked rice, chopped onion etc etc, wrap in puff pastry (although shortcrust will do fine as well) and bake as you would any other pasty. Slice and serve with spuds, veg and gravy, or with chips and beans/peas. Also yummy cold in lunchbox.

    Enjoy!
  • My very own recipe, which we have quite often in our house. Sausage meat risotto, otherwise known as Sizotto.

Fry onions, red peppers, sausagemeat and any other fry-ey things which appeal to you. (Additions are optional)

Add cooked rice and fry a bit longer

    Eat! :p
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

You can make it into meatball - mix up with chopped onion, garlic & herbs - you can add breadcrumbs to bulk it out a bit, and an egg will help them stay together better.

Either fry them off or pop them in the oven, then add to a tomato-based sauce & serve with pasta

Sausagemeat stuffing is lovely (and great cold, too) and I make it to make a roast chicken go further! I make it with an equal amount of boiled pots, mashed, a medium onion, finely chopped and 1tsp dried mixed herbs and black pepper.
I cook it separately (but at the same time as the chicken), in a shallow dish, until it's crispy on top.

Mix it with some minced beef, chopped onion, green pepper, some breadcrumbs and an egg to stick it all together. Put it in a loaf tin and back it for about 40 mins at 180°C.

If you want a proper recipe, look for one for meatloaf. I just guess when I make it!

To amuse children: bake the meatloaf in 2 cake tins. Sandwich together with mashed potato. Spread more mash on the top and decorate with cherry tomatoes. My boys love having a slice of "cake" with their veggies and gravy :D
Here I go again on my own....
