I have a 1979 recipe book called Cooking on a Shoestring by Gail Duff and in it she has a number of recipes for sausagemeat. One of her suggestions is to fry the susagemeat in the same way as you brown mince meat, breaking it up as you go, then adding varioud ingredients. One of the recipes is described as similar to a goulash and involves adding skinned tomatoes, chopped onion, paprika and dill deeds to the sausagemeat. The othe adds a sliced orange, the juice of an orange and chopped pickled onions, she suggests serving with either rice or jacket potatoes. I haven't made either recipe as stated, but did a version of the tomatoe one adding garlic and herbs instead of paprika and dill seed, this was nice with pasta.0

you can use sausagemeat to make american style "gravy" served with biscuits.
Here's a recipe which I have used before and it is really good. Where it says breakfast sausage, that's sausagemeat. Biscuits are like our scones but slightly softer.

A friend has given me two lots (2lbs in total) of sausage meat. It's currently sitting in the freezer, but I don't have a clue what to do with it. Any ideas? I've tried to find ideas on the Recipe thread, but can't see the wood for the trees!
Thanks

Mix with chopped onion, chopped apricots, minced garlic and beaten egg, form into small balls and fry. Add a mix of soy sauce and honey into the pan. Serve with rice. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Scotch eggs. Hardboil eggs, wrap sausagemeat round (you might need to brush with egg to stick), coat in breadcrumbs and bake or fry. Eat them either hot or cold served.0
