You could make stovies. It's the one thing that makes me sorry I'm a vegetarian.

I'm a veggie (which is probably obvious from my last post!) and I'm not a bit sorry! :D

As an aside, there's some lovely veggie grub out there, including sausage stuff. Holland and Barrett Porkless Pies look and taste just like pork pies and are gorgeous - but healthier (they're just as high in calories though) and they're guilt-free!

Ps. I'm not one of those veggies that don't seem to like food - there's still some 70's style veggie stuff around unfortunately, that tastes yuk! I like tasty food so I wouldn't recommend anything like that! :D

Hi VickyA. Put it in the bin! That's the best advice - not only is it unhealthy for pigs, it's horrendously unhealthy (and disgusting) for humans too - it's made of the left over pig parts that they can't persuade you to eat in their real form (such as intestines, trotters, brains, offal, bones, etc, etc)!

So do yourself a favour and bin it! ;)

No one is going to put me off eating meat. :) My dad is a farmer and my godfather used to be a butcher, so I know all the gorey (sp?) details. ;)

No offense, redmandarin, but I've been veggie for nearly 20 years and never once tried to inflict my values on others.

I have however tried to substitute veggie sausage to make stovies and I just couldn't make it taste anywhere near like the real thing. So if anyone knows how, please do tell! (But maybe not on this thread, to keep it on topic!)

Put inside some puff pastry, brush with beaten egg - sausage rolls!
My views are irrelevant - censorship is alive & well!

Why didn't I think of that? :wall: :wall: :wall: :D

Right, that's one of the packs sorted, then I'll have to do a little bit for each of everything else!

Thanks, Vicky. I was just about to look for that thread. I'll merge them for you to keep all the answers together.

  • I just bought loads of this fom Tesco's reduced to 19p in the freezer section, but now have no idea what I can do with it apart from the obvious sausage rolls. Does anyone have any ideas how I can use it up?

I have done a quick search but nothing coming up so far.

    Thanks

Roll very small sausage shapes in dried sage and onion stuffing and shallow fry.
