What can I do with sausage meat?

You've probably eaten it by now (unless you popped it in the freezer!) but I'd have stuffed marrow.
To the sausage meat I usually add a chopped onion and a slice of bread that I sort of grate to make breadcrumbs as I don't have a processor. Slice into rings, peel and de-seed the marrow and put the sausage meat mix in the hole and cook in the oven at about gas 7.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

Currently got a pack of sausage meat defrosting the fridge overnight. bought this on whoopsie for 5p at the beginning of the month and unsure what to do with it, apart from the obvious meatballs.

I use sausage meat to make stuffed vegetables - peppers and aubergines work really well.
Fry the meat with some diced onion, using a wooden spoon to mash it up a bit and separate it as it cooks (as you would with mince to stop it sticking together). Mix with some cooked rice, and add grated cheese and egg to bind. Add herbs, mixed dried, or some garlic and chillies to taste. Stuff into peppers or scooped out aubergines, sprinkle with cheese and cook for about 15 minutes until the veggies are soft and the rice has bound together (to speed this up microwave the veg for a couple of mins first).
Tasty, healthy and fun for kids to eat, because they can pick them up with their fingers when cooled down!0 -

I also used some a few weeks ago and just mixed it with dry stuffing and an egg to make burgers and it was really nice.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

i was tempted to buy this the other day BUT was put off because when i thought about it, isn't it literally just inside of sausage... and sausages are not healthy in the slightest really..... i was all inspired to get some and make meatballs etc but the fact that really i am just giving the family sausage of another name made me think twice. Can you make your own sausage meat?? Ie from pork somehow .....? Cos then it would obviously have less rusk and junk in it and then i could justify it lolBaldrick, does it have to be this way? My mum regularly used to use it in bolognese, either on its own or mixed with beef mince, as at the time it was cheaper than beef mince, and tended not to have a load of other ingredients apart from herbs and spices for flavouring. It is really nice, and I have a whoopsied pack in my own freezer to use up soon.
As for it being 'sausage insides', it does depend on what type you buy - pork mince is just minced pork meat, but sausage meat can have stuff added, so read the label before you buy it. Often it is just a bit of herbs and rusk that is added. I judge sausages primarily on the % of meat, and anything over 65% I consider to be ok, upwards of 75% is pretty good (but that is just my personal opinion, based on a couple of TV shows).Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0
