Nigella's mini meatloaves, sausage rolls, sausage plait if you don't want to faff with individual rolls - roll puff pastry into an oblong, sausage meat down the centre, cut strips at the side as though you were making apple braid and "plait" over the top. I like to brush with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds over. Or roll around hard boiled eggs and coat with beaten egg and breacrumbs for scotch eggs.0

My Mum uses it to stuff a marrow and then serves with a nice tomato sauce, or mix it with sage and onion stuffing mix and bake like a meatloaf, serve with roast potatoes and all the veg trimmings or it's even nice cold afterwards with chips or wedges.
Oh and also with the sage and onion mix cold on chicken or turkey sandwiches.0 -
Many moons ago when back at school we used to make a picnic type thing.
Cant remember the exact recipe but have made a version of it since where I bake blind a pastry case then fry some onion off. Mix the onion with sausagemeat and 1 or 2 beaten eggs. Mush it all together and fill pastry case. Top with sliced tomatoes and bake til browned on top (if very fatty sausagemeat you might need to skim some of the fat off)
Makes a nice alternative to quiche.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
A lovely lady I used to know made a nice dish with pork sausagemeat, onions, and bits of chopped apple, all fried up and seasoned with herbs. Then when it was cooked she topped it with mashed potatoes and cheese and browned it in the oven....It was delish!0

Hiya,
Make some pastry, and knock up sausage rolls? If you have nice weather, use it as an excuse for a picnic in the park
Take little balls (size of a large marble) and fry with a little olive oil, add finely chopped onion and garlic and fry til the little balls are sealed. Add chopped tomatoes, chilli (powder, flakes or whole dried) to taste, a splash of white wine, a pinch of thyme or oregano and seasoning. Simmer for 15 mins, til the meat is cooked. Serve with pasta shapes
Could you make a pie? with sausage meat, perhaps onions and potatoes? Like corned beef pie but not?

I wonder if you good folks would have some ideas on what I can use sausage meat for (other than sausage rolls).
To cut a long story short my Dad bought a load of sausage meat 3 lbs to make sausage rolls. I used approximately half of it to make the rolls and just bunged the other half in the freezer (as I had run out of marg to make any more pastry):rotfl:
Any ideas on how I can use it to make some tasty meals for three people?
Many thanks in advance.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -

I remember my Mum layering sausage meat then stuffing and another layer of sausage meat and cooking in the oven.
I have mixed it with herbs made meat balls, fried it off and then added to baked beans and served with mash.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........

Hi MrsPorridge,
There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that should help so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.
