From what we have been told by our local processing team of the 250 claim forms worked on 1 day last week only 9 claimants had not already received the Childrens Tax credit relief in 2002/2003. We are trying to encourage people to contact their tax office before sending in a claim form to avoid unnecessary time spent tracing records and sending out refusal letters.
Your tax office is the one who deals with your current employer/pension provider or your last employer if you are no longer working. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I phoned my local tax office but couldn't speak to a human being!
It was a recorded message about this claim and just telling us to download and send it in, so I have.
I will let you know what happens!!!0 -
The message was on while you were waiting to be put through, mind three days before self assessment deadline, that might have been a while.0

I downloaded the form about 3 weeks ago and filled it in, I sent it to my local tax office. I received a phone call this afternoon from the tax office telling me that yes, I did qualify and that I would receive my cheque in about 10 days.:j
I read about this online on another forum and read this link http://www.southnorthants.gov.uk/news_media/1008.htm
It shows where to obtain the form to print off and fill in (takes about 10 mins!).
You have to put in your claim before the 31st january so you have to be QUICK!!!
I think the best thing may be to ring your local tax office to enquire as to whether you qualify.? They can tell you straight away from your National Insurance number whether you do.
Good Luck.
I am very very chuft that we are getting this money :beer:0 -
Is this still available???
If i send the form on moday will they accept this???0 -

You probably recieved at the time anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much you probably didn't miss out.0
