Ok, just got off the phone. I used the direct number, thanks Johny!

CO said all outstanding payments would be processed by the end of today. This would then take 3-4days as it's by BACs. I got £50 compensation too, although I explained I want much more than this.
  • I've been tracking this on here for a while. They took 2 X £200 off me and i have had one refunded yesterday. Obviously i've done the chuckle brothers with the call centre who were just blantently lying to me.

I rang the number for the notts office posted above, he suggested i'm looking at tuesday for the other payment. However he could give me a reason unlike the call centre. Whether or not its true or not you never know.

I 'missed' my payment date on the 13th Oct, even though they took my cash on the 29th Nov, i explained i had no intention of paying the bill until all monies have been returned. He said he would refund the late charge, re-instate introductary offers and removed the credit black mark. I then set about getting some compensation (i hate that term), £50 to be credited to my account.

Not an ideal solution but its been better calling them. I'd also raised an investigation with my bank HSBC, who temp credited my acount with £200 while capital one sorted it, i only found out about this yesterday, could be worth asking for those who have big sums tied up.

Bit of an update, got a small part of my money back today, but was told the rest could take up to Tuesday 21st to go through. Very apologetic person from Cap One UK called me back this morning. They say they are going to call customers if the situation changes - by that I guess further delays. They say have been on to 'banks' to get the payments cleared. Could not give an explanation for their delay. When / if I get all of my money back I may go out and celebrate !

Phoned this afternoon (on the number given a few posts above) & person I spoke to said he would credit my account with £50. It hasn't appeared yet though. No further money refunded to my current account, I pointed this out and he said it could take to WEDNESDAY now. About 2000 people affected, they are receiving lots of complaints from angry people - surprise surprise. Overtime has been worked to resolve the problems. All very well but I need that money back

I'll ask again in case my other message was missed but am I the only person who has had his extra two payments actually credited to my Cap 1 account instead of them just being taken from my bank account and disappearing in to the ether ? At least that way it's not really a problem as they totalled just over £42.
  • Hi SimX,

When they credit my acount with £25 it took 48hrs to show but it did in the end, so I wouldn't worry too much yet.
