sorry to hear of all the problems people are experincing with cap 1 payments, can any one advise are direct debits having a problem or is it just manual online payments, and is the online payment system working now

just a bit concerned as my first minimum payment dd is due out next week (thursday) and am wondering if it will go through ok - it is listed on my statement tyhey will take the dd and my own current account has it listed as a direct debit being set up(i am on a 0% deal and dont want to loose it)

i also intend to make a further payment to cap 1 after this date (cant do befrore as could cancel out the dd being taken), am i best to pay over the counter at a bank or are manual payments online going through ok now??

Yet again, no money in my account this morning.

Anna42, It's was only debit card payments that had a problem. This should be sorted now.

same here second payment still floating around somewhere.
have sent a very curt secure message this morn to tell them i am instructing solicitor today to take action against them. i paid on 28th and got a message saying the payments were started for refunds on 9th, thats 11 days since payment and 6 since it was refunded or so they say.

Ok, just rang Capital One again to complain. They couldn't confirm my bank account or amounts, just kept saying that all payments have been returned on the 9th. He was getting quite aggressive as was I (he was just being repetitive and saying I should ring my bank). After explaining 4 full working days is enough, I said I would wait until tomorrow (5 working days) and then would be contacting a solicitor.

I think 1 working week is enough time.

creamymuckmuck, I would like to know what the solicitor says/advises today. Although I think their first step would be for them to send off a letter on your behalf.

just to adfd my bit, I did a debit card payment on 28th september, and got the bit about it not going through but I got straight onto my online bank account and it had been taken immediately so lucky me didnt do more payments. The amount was for £90 and im still waiting for it to be returned, have been charge £12 for non payment although I made another payment 2 days later when the payment didnt show up on my cap one account. this morning just recd a default notice and a charge of £12 dated 7/10. I have made loads of calls and each time I get told it will be back in account in several days and the £12 will be refunded - but it doesnt happen. Dont have much left owing on this cc and at the end of the month I shall be paying it all off less £90 and £12 and lets see what happens then. My bank says because I gave them my debit card details this lets them do anything!!!!! Surely they cant get away with this.

makes you think that using cash would be much more simple. If we all stopped using these bad financial institutions some overpaid folks wouldnt have a job. We also wouldnt have been in many debt problems. Its a buy now generation, and you can pay for it later - but its going to cost you loads more of course. Sorry about going on but Im in a very bad mood after phoning cap one and the advisor hardly understanding me.

Louiser, can you post the 0800 number? It looks like it will still take debit card payments from my login.

Direct Debits are not affected and it should be ok to make an online payment but if it didn't work the first time I'd not not repeat it .If you have online banking with your own bank then you might prefer to set up a payment arrangement and make the payment that way .
