Still missing my final payment - three weeks late now!

I sent a message yesterday, asking them to check it had been processed correctly (not another admin error). I just got another pathetic email saying wait it's in the clearing system and was sent on the 9th - some ten working days late then!!!

It really is like talking to a brick wall with Capital One. Ok, they are sympathetic (well those at head office) but they won't do anything apart from say wait. At what point will they start looking into this? How long do I wait?
  • I have had same problem, I owed £935.80 and wantd to pay the whole amount off. I tried to do it on the Capital One website, however it kept saying try again and then said invalid. They had taken 2 payments and made my current account overdrawn. I had to transfer £935.80 from my savings account (losing me interest), as I had bills to pay. I have rung several times and spoken to people from Tim Buk 2, who I can not understand. I incurred a £12 late payment charge and today I have read my statement and have a £22.71 interest charge on my account. They have also put a block on my card because I have so called not paid! even tough I have paid them twice! I always pay my full amounts off every month, I have been spoken too like a criminal by Capital One staff as if I have not made a payment. They asked me if I did not understand a minimum payment had to be paid each month, I was vertually screaming at them saying I had paid them twice and the full amount! I had spoken to my personal banker in Barclays and she said it is terrible what they have done. She said that although their technical error (which has resulted in them making god only knows how much in interest, because it seems to have happened to so many people) may not affect credit ratings, it will go on my credit file, which may affect my ability to get loans, credit, or mortgages in the future! I have written a letter of complaint abut this and i am livid. I too have had restrictions on my online account so I cannot send or receive secure messages. Even their telephone numbers were ringing unobtainable at one point this morning, I am not surprised, it will be because of all the irate customers trying to get their money back. I dont know whats mine or theirs at the moment. But I do feel better for writing it down here and having a moan! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr (sorry)

If it does go on your Credit File ....and I'm not so sure that it does...rememebr that you are entitled to make a comment on your file about the entry .
Check back the messages on here and see if you can get an alternative number for Cap 1's Nottingham Offices .

Yes, four letters sent to date. Numerous phone calls. I'm waiting for a phone call back which should be today.
