Why are they going to increase your limit if your paying in full and not earning them anything..
Come on Mr Star-Fire, you know they make money on every purchase
Would you seriously advise someone to carry a balance on one of these puppies just to get a few hundred quid credit limit increase?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

Why are they going to increase your limit if your paying in full and not earning them anything..
Started with a limit of £1k and had 4th statement in December limit increasing to £2k.
Pay in full each month so it does happen.
Limit could have been £500 as far as I'm concerned as that's what I spend roughly on fuel each month and the card was applied for as a credit rebuilder, doing it's job i hope!0 -
OMG! Just checked my C1 account and worked out my minimum payment each month, which I'm paying on time and by DD each month, is only reducing my balance by 56p a month by the time they've taken their interest!!!!!! If that's not an incentive to pay it off I don't know what is.
Anyway.......... back to the question. I've had my card 5 months with an opening credit limit of £200. I've had no increase as yet. I sent a message via their online system just before xmas about increasing my limit and received a standard 'we will review your account periodically' message back.
Well after the revelation I've just had I will be paying it off asap (only had it to re-build credit score), then I will push it right to the bottom of my bag and never use it again...................................... be gone evil credit card!!!!!!!!!! LOL!:j:):jI am a bankruptcy survivour (10 years ago). It does get easier.:j:):j

I had the card for over two years - started on £200 and it never altered. My credit was good too - and I did a mixture of DD payments, balance payments etc...PMA - Positive Mental Attitude
It works for me - you try it!0 -
My Flatmate has just been approved for a Capital One Classic card with #1,000 starting limit - despite having never held a credit card and being two months overdue on his Loan.
I thought Classic cards always came with a pathetic starting limit? Huh. There you go.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Started on £400 limit nearly 4 years ago now. My latest increase was in December 2010 and that was an increase from £2400 to £3000.0

I have just logged into my account and seen that my limit is increased to 800 although still only 200 available which was my limit last week after I cleared the balance. I started with 100 about a year after being discharged from my bankruptcy. I think it was about six months before my original increase due to probs setting up direct debit leading to late payments which peed me off but was fault of bank and I got my increase to 200. Didn't expect any more increases but just seen the 800 so I guess I am nit doing as badly as I thought. It's the first time I have credit (or will have once applied) over 500 since the bankruptcy so definitely recommended for credit building as long as you can afford it and nit getting credit co's you 'need' it iyswim.Proud to be Member of BSC #92Hoping to get debt free again :wall::heart2: working hard to make my daughters proud :heart2:0
