I applied for this card and got accepted, my plan was to transfer my balance from my Vanquis card over which is £550 with a limit of £1K but by the looks of it on here I don't think my limit will be high enough, what should I do? This is a slightly better card than Vanquis.

see how it goes slugger. you may be surprised. i would deffo rate CapOne over vanquis. you might still find it worth transfering the balance to cap one as rate may still be lower as long as you can afford the two payments and pay off the higher debt first ..

I've found Vanquis shocking but its served its purpose, it has improved my credit rating, I did apply to Capital One initially but got declined to went to Vanquis

    Nov 10 £800 :j
    Sep 11 £1800 :j
  • What do you have to do to get an increase off CapOne? I've been with them 14 months and still on my original £200 limit, never missed or been late with a payment and whilst not always clearing the ballance, I've always paid substantialy more than the minimum, my credit rating is ok, and I've just applied for a card from another company and got £1000 limit, confuses the hell out of me.

I started off with £300, bumped up to £800 after the 4th or 5th statement. Just been bumped again to £1800 as of next month. Had the card a total of 17 months and I generally pay it in full every month, although I have occasionally had a balance and paid a little interest, but I have never come close to maxing it out.

What I don't understand is I applied for a capital one progress card not so long ago and I was rejected, yet a couple of months later they increase my limit by 225%! Weird.
  • I have had my Capital One Classic card for 2 months now, I pay the balance off in full each month! My limit is £200 so does this mean I will get a credit limit on the fourth month?

Also my interest is 30.34% is this the same for everyone else or have I got a bad deal here?

I don't have any CCJ's but my score is really low need to build it up!!
    Vanquis - £150 Limit
    Littlewoods - £450 Limit
Capital One Classic - £200 Limit
    Halifax Classic - £250 Limit

Have had my cap one card for 9 month. My limit has remained at GBP 200. I use the card monthly and pay in full by direct debit. Same story with my fiancee. Seems to be the norm now. I only use it for credit rating increase and the free equifax services, so I'm not that fussed.

Should add I earn over 40k and have no adverse credit history, just lacking some address history as I was living abroad.
  • I've not long had my Cap1 classic card. I started off with a £1500 credit limit, and I'm not expecting that to rise too soon, nor do I want it to as thats plenty for me:)
