as treasurer of the local ladies bowls club I had lots of change and I took it to local traders I knew who were happy to exchange for large notes0

I used the money sorting machine in my local Asda as the bank wouldn't take as many coins as I had in one go and I wanted the cash that day. It gives you a receipt that can be used as payment for purchases or you can be given the cash instead. I can't for the life of me remember how much it took for the pleasure of counting my money but it couldn't have been much as I'd have not bothered and gone without.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Asda are always willing to take coins but don't go at peak times. They have always been good with me.
Also my mum banks with Nat west and they don't mind how much you take as long as it is bagged correctly. RBS are OK too.0 -
Coinmasters take 7p in the pound for their services.0

One of the local Student Union Bars round here frequently runs out of change. I'm always more than happy to swap my pocketful of change for an equivalent amount of notes.

If you do know anyone with a small business, and a business bank account just ask them to bank them for you, business accounts do not have a limit, private customers pretty much always do.0

Although there's no limit on what they can pay in, businesses will get charged for the privelege of paying in coins.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0 -
In my local Savacentre the sainsburys there have a change machine. You just pour it all in and a receipt is issued. You then take the receipt to customer services and they pay out the money in normal cash. Dont know if this is widely available thoughThe forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

I would try the customer service deak of any large Tesco during a weekday evening (Mon - Wed, and Sun).
I know at the Extra store we worked at, change was a nightmare to get hold of and we were forever running out. It got to the stage where one day my Step Sister had to pop over to my folks one afternoon, and basically took her huge coin bottle as Tesco had run out of coppers, with a delivery not due for a few hours! (of course they paid her for what was in it!)
We used to encourage the staff to take in their coin bags and swap them for notes.
Also, £5 notes are difficult for shops to get hold of for info!0
