People are running reputable businesses on eBay believe it or not, it is not just full of 'fly by nights' and not just on eBay, lots of others on the Paypal marketplace where it is offered. People scream fake to get their money back DISHONESTLY because eBay and Paypal allow this DISHONEST behaviour to continue without question. Now I will not take Paypal. 'Here, have the goods, no need to return them and get your money back too'. And sellers can do naff all about it as the buyer states 'Paypal told me to destroy it, honest guv, I do not have it anymore'. Yeah, right.
Hence eBay going down the toilet. It's been a loooong time they gave 1p listings. It's been a long time since they gave exposure of shop items in their main body listings. They are clearly suffering because people are sick of them ruining their businesses and giving money back to customers just because a customer screams fake or not received. eBay and Paypal do not give a toss about paperwork backing up the goods they have bought. It is a disgrace and good for you for thinking that this DISHONEST behaviour is OK and acceptable.
And there you are banging on about it being dishonest and wrong to sell fake goods yet you are quite happy to say that it is acceptable to rip sellers off by screaming fake when goods aren't.
Hi BM.
Just wondered if you would mind telling me what alternative and satisfactory method of payment you offer.
IIRC cheques can take up to two weeks to clear.

Hi Riz,
I have a merchant account and process payments myself with a handheld credit card machine. It works on the mobile networks and although the outlay is expensive (I had it anyway because I was trading at a market and people used to collect in person) you have to set up a merchant account, but it means that I myself get to check the cards and if there is a problem then the payment is either declined or I have to call a number to get it authorised. I just do not send the order out (I had one this week that was declined).
I was sick of Paypal, they take the money, hold onto it for whatever reason they see fit, send all their demands to see this, that and the other, someone left me a positive, next thing they were saying the card had unauthorised use - and Paypal had the audacity to charge ME for accepting a stolen card and processing an unauthrised card. So they refunded the customer, took £7 from me AND the customer had their goods. That very day I removed Paypal from my website and now I am no longer trading on eBay I do not have to use it. It's a relief.
If you are trading on eBay you have to take it, however, if trading elsewhere their are so many different options. For me processing the cards myself means that I control when the cards are charged - because some people place orders for goods that are on backorder the card gets charged when the goods arrive and are ready to be dispatched - with other methods the card got charged right away and I did not really think that fair if the customer did not have anything in hand. It just made everything easier.
Of course there is always cheques and postal orders which are much, much easier!!
If you are interested in looking at my website then PM me and I'l send the details over so you can have a look at it. I maintain it all myself and pay a monthly fee (£20 plus VAT) but you can have other options such as email and stat tracking, but of course, there are no sellers fees to pay. I've sold £400 this wee so there is no need for me to do eBay. My profit margin is much higher on the website because of the additional costs eBay brings. To sell that on eBay I would have had to spend hours listing, answering emails, leaving feedback I would have paid around £25 in Paypal fees and £50-£100 in sellers fees (more if I had listed everything I had in stock and depending on how it was listed, most months I was paying around £1200 in fees), people like to buy from the website and no moaning about postage, delivery and the like. It is just far, far easier and less stressful. Let me know if it is of interest and I'll pop an email over with the people I use and you can have a look to see if it is of interest.0 -
I just wanted to update on this case.
Buyer started a Paypal dispute on 27 september claiming item was counterfeit. I immediately uploaded the invoice from my supplier and a screen print from the manufacturers website showing that my supplier is an authorised reseller.
I phoned Paypal the same day to ask about the process etc and was told the buyer had 10 days to provide documentation stating the item is counterfeit. They said would need confirmation from the manufacturer or that he could just go to a retailer of the same item and get them to state on letterheaded paper that the item was counterfeit. Good news for me I hoped (as I knew they were genuine) but I've still been stressed about it for the last 10 days!
I noticed that the buyer has been emailing Paypal a couple of times every other day or so, so I have phoned Paypal a few times to ask what was going on etc. Every time I was reassured that I will win the claim unless he provides the documentation, and they didn't think he was going to. They said all the emails they had received from him were irrelevant to the dispute.
I had an email from Paypal yesterday stating that they were asking for additional information again from the buyer, I thought this was odd as they asked him for the documentation on 27th sept, so I phoned Paypal and they told me it was like a 'last chance' email to provide documentation.
Anyway, I noticed the 10 days were up in the early hours of this morning, but nothing was happening to the dispute, so I have phoned Paypal and they told me that he did not provide any documentation, they also said if he thought the item was fake it should not have been used and he shouldn't have left me positive feedback! So I win the case and I've just got my money back from Paypal!
:j:beer::T
Hopefully this will be the end of it as the buyer previously stated "If Paypal feel that 2 weeks use from a xxx is acceptable I will stand by their decision." 0 -
Well done, nice to hear from someone justifiably winning a Paypal claim.Loving the dtd thread. x0

well that wasn't the end of it unfortunately.
my buyer is now listing the item on ebay, encouraging people not to bid and stating that he bought it from me, that it is fake and telling people not to buy from me!
firstly he used my picture so i reported him and it was removed, then he listed with my ebay id in the listing but it got removed, now he has just put the price they are (mine are the only ones on ebay with same price) and is using another id to ask himself questions and putting my name and details in the answers, that got removed so he has now listed again.
he has also now done another listing with a new ebay id using my name and then "ebay scam" after it.
i have reported them all to ebay, it has taken a couple of hours to remove some of the listings, but one was there for 24 hours, and he just keeps relisting again and altering the wording in an attempt to bend the rules. even if his own id gets banned then it seems he will just keep starting new ids to try and prevent me selling my items!
i don't know when/if this will ever stop and don't know what i can do about it!0 -
hmm is this your main line or 'just' one of your items?0

ebay have now removed the one listed with his id "(myuserid)ebay.scam)" and the id has been suspended, well it's disappeared/doesn't seem to exist anymore
the listing from his own id was also removed for the fourth time, but has been immediately be relisted by him.
edit - the name didn't get suspended, the listing just disappeared briefly as the seller changed the category.0 -
Is it not costing this person each time he/she lists it again????0
