  • Dear heart is feeling poorly. He has said repeatedly that it is not my cooking, so that makes me feel so much better - really!

Little bear was all worn out by his trip. I honestly don't know how I can get so silly. I was determined to go into the town today, just to go. I was planning to go after the main rush of workers but before the cheap fares started, so it would be quiet. But...

I didn't get the new pushchair assembled last night. You know how things always seem far too complicated when you are thinking about them, I thought it would be a dreadful job. And I woke up absolutely shattered, and little bear wasn't much better. It was also a late start, I would never have made the bus in time. Then I was thinking, and I thought - what the heck! So around 2pm I just threw the pushchair together, found little bear's socks (always one of the bigger challenges) and we just went. Little bear was a little bemused. We were next to another little boy and little bear kept looking at him and then at me as if to say, 'what on earth am I supposed to say to him?' The little boy was lovely, offering a crisp to little bear (who declined ) and coveting little bear's teddy. Little bear also kept giving me looks that said, 'Why are we doing this when I really need a nap?' Then we went into a new museum and I bought a cup of tea and some squash - next time it's flasks and home made buns! I almost expected them to come gift wrapped, it was so expensive. Then we went home, with little bear falling asleep en route.

    Hugs to all.

Hester - I do hope that you find somewhere that appreciates you. It really is silly, and I would start logging all that you do all day. I am sure that there are all sorts of rules that would protect you, but I have to say that if you are in a position where they are trying to get rid of you it is better to just get out while you can while you still have some sanity. They will really regret losing you. Wishing you all the luck.

There are so many people having scans and check ups and things. I do hope you get good results. It is amazing what doctors can do and I am keeping my fingers crossed. Has anyone heard from Meanmarie or have I just missed her post? I do hope Ulrick is well.

Still feeling giddy from the trip. I shall now go on the website and see how much a weekly ticket is - and get my money's worth before the wicked weather really sets in!

Hester - There are so many other places who would fall over themselves if they had someone like you working for them. Do you have a union or something which you are a member of? I hope you find a beter job soon

    Evening all,

Tiling in the kitchen started, so this will be a messy weekend...Japanese surrogate daughter rang last night all concerned about Ulick and she and her baby are arriving any time to see him, so will have visitors for the weekend and I think that the only bread I have is in the freezer...but we will manage. Was too lazy to cook dinner so had mackerel and bread with a nice cup of coffee...ok for one day as I am usually very fussy about dinner.

Ulick was to have MRI this morning, he has had a plate in his head due to an injury 41 years ago, no body could remember what plate is made of so they did a skull X ray this morning to establish if MRI would be safe....was on his way later for MRI and it was cancelled...presume that the plate is metal, will find out during the early part of next week what happens from here, very pleased with the high level of care he is getting, in contradiction of what people say about the health service here.

Doing a little knitting at present, need something to keep me from going to bed too early and then not sleeping.

Hugs to all who need or want some, and congratulations to all who are celebrating...welcome to newbies.

Well done on your venture Sybil....but stop calling yourself silly, you are not any sillier than the rest of us!

    Hi guys,

Well it has been a lazy day here at chez Smoky! I'm usually pretty tired after my stint at work and Friday does seem to be a bit of a loss day. I've made up a list of what jobs on what days for the next week, done the usual run through with the hoover, sewn on 3 badges on to DD1's jumper for cubs, slept for an hour after lunch and beggar all else - well except dipping in and out of the lappy for most of the day.

I had a letter from Mr tax man today about Eric - wanting some details about finances as his employer has notified them that he has died  6 months later for God's sake, It's bog standard I suppose but a bit late in the day.

DD1 is off for a day of fun activities tomorrow with the cubs and that means that it's not worth going out to Rhosneigr as we would only have a couple of hours before having to come home. So shelved for another week.

I have chosen a sage green carpet for our bedroom and intend to strip the walls of the yellow and purple stripped wallpaper (on when we moved in, the only room that we have never decorated) I plan to put some anaglypta up but am a bit stumped as to what colour to paint it. I will have to decide soon as I will have to choose the paint.

    wannabe sybil - :T :T :T :T

meanmarie - I am glad they are looking after Ulick well, I can only agree with you with the level of care given by the NHS, I couldn't fault the way Eric was looked after.

Hester - what a plank that bursar sounds, I hope you get sorted out one way or another.

Betheebee - Gentle hugs to you both, I hope the chinese was good.

Pen-pin - Gentle hugs to you too, I hope you feel a little better tomorrow and that your dinner was delish.

Anniestar - :hello: Have a good sleep and nice to see you.:j

Gentle hugs to all in need tonight.

    Smoky. xxxx

  • Hi everyone,

I suppose this is a bit late in your day but better late than never I say. :D Had one of those manic weeks. I seem to have them on a regular basis. Next week seems to be shaping up the same way. Had DGS the usual days, DH's sister & hubby came on Thursday & I visited DSis yesterday. I haven't seen her since her op and she's looking great. I had no problems with the buses. :D

MeanMarie I hope Ulick has a better week.

Well quite a lot of posts to catch up so I better go and have a read. Hope everyone is well & <hugs> to those that need them. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
