Mornin all , I'm a bit of a lurker on old style but thought i'd start posting more on here in light of my "old style" LBM. I need to start being more savvy with my life in general-I have made a start I bought a slow cooker(n sale!!!) last week just not quite sure what to put in it ...lol.
I have to go to work shortly but will be looking forward to reading all the acheivments you guys do on a daily basis that make HUGE difference to your cost of living and hope to be joining in and making new friends..........Oh My God does that make me sound a bit of a weirdo lol.
O well enough from me waffling on, Hope you all have a lovely day!!xxxxxx

Oh and bump due 3rd Dec 09' mummy to be for the first time :T0 -
Morning all.
OH and dd still not well, so they will be having another day at home, dd is on an inset day anyway, so she and OH can annoy each other for the day.
Will shove a white wash on before work and OH can hang it out for me, its supposed to be a nice day here today, he can also shove his work clothes in on a seperate wash, which will get me ahead for the weekend.
My dd has to make a meal from a foreign country for her homework, and she has decided on sweet and sour chicken, she has to make it and photograph it, to take in, so she will be doing that tonight, (although have just realised that, we have had chicken three times this week), any hoo, she has also made up a Chineese flag, which we will stick into a piece of chicken, and get a close up of the meal, and we will get a photo of the table set with three dinners, she also has to write up the recipe, and stick it all in a folder, I like this type of homework :T
Off to w**k for me today, not too bad finish at 2, and then I will get the dog up to the beach for a walk.
Jackie O, enjoy your trip, I will look forward to hearing all about it, take care of yourself xx
MY Course was terrible yesterday, we sat around for an hour, while the chap sorted out the computers, and he whispered all the time so we could not hear what he was saying, then then just told us what buttons to press on the computer without explaining what we were doing,it was all a disaster, I am doing to give it another week, and if its the same I am going to stop and ask for a refund, I can't see myself learning anything.
Mellika, glad your course went well, and hugs to you xx
Bookie, nice to see you posting xx
Anyone seen Aussie
Hugs to Marie and DH xx
Anyway this is a Kathy size post, better get on, have good days all xx

Morning all
Bit chilly here this morning, but we still haven't put the heat on yet :j I read on another thread about NPower's spreading the warmth plan - £125 off gas and £125 off electric if you're on a standard tariff and have a disability, people over 60, children under 16, or less than so much income.
Anyway, as I'm on a standard tariff with them for my gas, I emailed to find out more and I qualify :j :j :j Now, I already get a £40 discount in February, as I have a disability, so I wonder if that will be replaced by the £125 or if I will still get bothI also get the £20 off for paying by direct debit :T
Here's more info:
http://www.npower.com/web/At_home/Popup/spreading_warmth_tariff_terms/index.htm
Anyway, back to today.
WM is on -again
Herb and cheese rolls were ok yesterday, but didn't taste like the ones I had bought. Still went well with soup though.
We're seeing friends later so not much OS'ing going on today. Will be going over surfaces with a duster though, as I noticed last night the place could do with a polish.
Hope you all have a great day.

Morning
Just a quickie before I dash into work.....
Wm on, OH will put it onto airer when he gets home before the rugby - Saayull are playing Glaaawwsterrr at home tonight, fingers crossed for 4 wins out of 4
One thing I wanted to ask - I'm thinking of buying a sewing machine, but am flummoxed.....do I buy the £59 cheapy (less £5 discount) from Tesco Direct (that I've never heard of) or look for a "better" model that may well cost more money? When I lived in Warrington there was a Singer repair shop who sold s/h refurbished ones, but I don't know anywhere like that here.... (help, Morwenna / Whatatwit?). It's mainly so I can alter any of my clothes & re-model some things too, without paying for professional alterations at £15 a go  a few more of those & I've paid for the machine
Hey ho, better get a shift on - am the only PA in the office today out of 3 bodies, luckily we're 2 bosses down tooAnd have just remembered that I've got a heap of archiving to do alongside everything else
:grouphug: to all in need - especially Meanmarie, Pippa.S, Candygirl, Smokey, Betheebee
Don't suppose we'll see PoppyOscar for a while
Celyn have you gone to bed from yesterday yet?!
Hester, hope things get sorted in work - I would poke the knitter with her needles!
Redruby, if you do cancel, tell the college why - if they get complaints about the tutor, it may be something they can change....
Whatatwit, we're fans of the Cottage down our end....
Love to all

Hi again - DH has gone to work and I've had a shower, cleaned the bathrooms, made the bed, put one load in the WM with handwashed scatter cushions (that should be dry-cleaned!) waiting to go in for a spin, cleared up the breakfast things and put the ingredients ready for making Impossible Pie - which reminds me, Aussie - where are you?
I want to give the downstairs a dust and hoover then get on with filing the paperwork after yesterday's marathon type-in!
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candy-girl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Pippa's DH and Mum, Ulrick and Meanmarie and RedRuby's OH and DD. Hope you all have a better day today.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
It's beautiful weather out there so I hope to get lots of washing dry.
DH and I started watching a horrid Quentin Tarantino film last night on channel 5, called 'Hostel'. It was so gory and scary that I had to stop watching it. That Tarantino must have several screws loose because he has the most horrific imagination. Even though I only watched a bit of it - most of the time hiding behind my knitting - it bothered me through the night. It's a long time since a film has kept me awake - the last time was the first Halloween film:eek: - we had to have the landing light on for weeks after that! I don't like being scared half to death and don't understand how anyone can watch gruesome films.
Dinner tonight will be a fry-up to use up some bacon that is nearly past it's sell-by date so that will be an easy meal. I shall cook it in the Remoska with some eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes.
I hate the thought of power cuts even though I went through them in the 1970s. We soon got used to them so I suppose we will now, but I have more electrical appliances this time round and it's those I'll miss - especially being able to come on here! I think there should be a special dispensation to keep our computers on in any power cuts - we need each other!
Anyway, I'm mioliering so I'd better get on. WM has finished so I'll get the washing out on the line and rinse and spin my cushion covers hoping they haven't shrunk - there are too many of them to get them dry-cleaned - it would cost a fortune!
See you all later.

Floss - I read on another thread a day or two ago (sorry, I can't remember which one but it was a 'sewing' one I think!) that someone had bought a sewing machine in Tesco reduced from £50 to £25 and that her mother had said it was great value at £50 let alone £25. Hope this helps answer your question! If I come across the thread again, I'll post on here or pm you!
