Hello all,
Mehefin My work boots chew up my socks too, I get around it by wearing normal socks then thick welly socks over the top. I do work in a chilled warehouse though, so slightly different. I think there is a thread about darning socks, but by the time you buy the wool etc, it is cheaper to just replace the socks I think.
Ugh, I am so fed up. Seems all I hear on the news is the government whinging on about this and that and NOT BLOODY DOING ANYTHING ABOUT ANY OF IT because 'it costs money'.. And I had a rubbish day at work
Anyway I'm off for two days now
Popham Alpacas is having an open day tomorrow which I am going to with my friend, then I think we will go out for lunch. I want to start sanding down my kitchen cupboard - have been given some nice paint in a pastel blue colour. Other than that, a couple of Ebay parcels to post and general sorting out to be done. Oh, I want to make broccolli and blue cheese soup as well (or cheddar, have not decided yet).
So, hope you all have a good evening :beer:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

And after a far too quick skim of the posts, the thing about brain scans is that they are proof that you have one.

Hello everyone!
Long time no word from me - have been a bit of a bad girl and lost track of my OS ways over the Summer. However, just done the 'how-much-debt-do-I-still-have' sums and the debt-free end is in sight (despite my spending) so time to jump back on the OS waggon as it is the only method I have found that works for me.
Started clearing some of the garden this morning, brought in some more toms to ripen on the window sill (a small army of green toms on there at the mo). Made v.concentrated (like wallpaper paste) soup to freeze and (dilute into normal consistency later) and used up some leeks and potatos that would otherwise have been composted. Tea will be ratatouille with the toms that have ripened and a courgette that needs eating (but that I didn't think would go so well in soup...).
Mioliere - I have been very absent from the knitting/crochet thread, but have dug out the hook and am planning an evening crocheting on the sofa - I'll be adding to my total soon!

Hiya, well it's G&T o'clock so thought I must conform, have just had a long soak and am ready to get a chinese take away delivered, DH fancies one. Oh what a busy life we all seem to be leading, having read through.
JO132000, I have had a brain and spine MRI, like the others have said it's a bit noisey but you can see the staff, it's a bit like putting your head into a WM or TD, it's not in darkness. I closed my eyes and pretended I was elsewhere, sounds loopy but I'm a great believer in the power of thought.
PENPIN, I do hope that the sickness feeling passes and you can enjoy the dinner tonight. WOW the shopping you got from NY, can I move in please, I'm a great cleaner. I even have a toothbrush that I use on the taps, especially where they are fixed to the basin, Sad or what ?
PIPPA S, Glad you have your sis for company. Unfortunately the C.H. wont work with out electric. The boiler pump needs electric to work.
IVYLEAF, My goodness you are going through it, Hugs to you and your poorly family.
CHURCHMOUSE, Ofcourse we remember you, welcome back. Have you got a note re you being absent?
MRS. MIX, Hope tomorrow is kinder to you than today.

Evening all
Bad day at work, it's been made quite clear that if I can't do my job I will be surplus to requirements. The Bursar is being very devious, saying there is no need for me to lift paper as the caretakers will do it but then telling me that if the paper isn't moved asap, I'm the one responsible for any accidents/injurys caused by paper not being moved fast enough. She also saying that the school paid for extra work surface, that I don't use & implying That I'm just having a moan. Yes they did buy extra work surface, but it was never bloody fitted & now it's lost! I'm making another Dr's appointment next week, just so I can say I've been. I also applied for 2 jobs today & shall carry on looking. I'm now going to have a browse & see what I can find out about my employment rights.
Have a good evening.
Hugs Hester

Hester,
Sorry you have had a bad day, she seems like a right one that Bursar, hopefully you will find something much nicer soon, hugs xxx0 -
I agree Hester, it doesn't sound like they deserve you at all - I'm sure there is something far nicer out there - and then perhaps they'll realise just how much work you DO do!!!!!Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0
