  • Hi everyone.Today I can't see out of my windows it's so foggy.A real pea-souper.Stll weatherman has just said it's going to be about 19c today so I'm going to make the best of it.We had a very chilly night last night snuggled up on the sofa and watched TV covered by our fleecy blankets of course.
OH has man flu and so of course poor soul,he's dying,I've asked him to do it quietly as I don't want him to give me another migraine in the process.
I'm going to stay in today and do some baking nothing else planned.
Money Saving Diva -can I have some of what you are on.You never seem to sleep.
Redruby-sorry to hear your course was'nt good yesterday.I hope it's better today.
    and
Mellika -pleased to hear you coures was good
Harduphester-babysitting grandbabies is so exhausting. They may be adorable but are hard work.
Moiliere-I can't believe someone did'nt warn you about Hostel. It's so gruesome.I found it stayed with me for days.
betheebee-it does'nt surprize me that they are predicting blackouts for the winter. At least all of our preparations won't be in vain and I'll be able to say I told you so to my OH who thinks I'm a menopausal mad woman for doing them.
anyway better go got to do my banking and pay my bills.Have a good day everyone,I'm going to try.Take care xxx.

Good morning, lovely sunshine here today, bit nippy though. Harden us up gradually for winter! Will have to remember to have a look for wind up lanterns if we're going to get power cuts, and dig the camping ones out of the garage and cupboard, glad I have a gas hob and camping stove though, don't much fancy cooking on the barbie in the snow or rain!

Daisychain - welcome! Don't worry, you don't sound mad at all, well not compared to most people here lol!

Beth - glad Ben is improving so quickly. Thanks for asking about the party, it was great fun, especially the shower jelly throwing, how I giggled as it landed splat on dd1's head!

Marie - hugs to you and Ulick xx

Tidied the kitchen and dw on, having a slow start to the day as dd3 has an inset day. We will be making a choc cake for ds today, as he keeps moaning that he never got one on his birthday, I'm sure he must've had a cake though! Anyway, having seen the one that I made yesterday for the girls' party he decided he should have one as well lol!

Stir fry for dinner, going to try the cheap sweet and sour mix as well with some veg in the moski, hope it works as well as the cheap curry! Need to fill the ever hungry bm, and wm will go on tonight when kids come in so I can do their uniforms. Will have a quick hoover and tidy round as well.

Need to pack as well, I'm off to Brighton for the weekend, going to the Fat Boy Slim thing on the beach, should be fun so long as the weather holds, else I shall be in search of a beer tent. Have told my friend I shall be leaving her instructions on where to find my passport, then if I get blown over to Calais she can post it to me so I can get home again lol! Looking forward to catching up with some friends whilst I'm there as well, so will be good.

Hugs to all in need, off to catch up on yesterday's thread now, see you all later xx

Sorry if I don't name you all - my brain doesn't work that way:confused: However, best wishes in whatever form to those that need them.

Gorgeous sunny morning and I'm taking a quick break in w*rk to type this lot.. Norty Mehefin.
Just a quick question or two for you all.
Does anyone still darn socks?... I work in an industry where its a condition of employment to wear safety footwear - the steel toecaps play havoc with socks.. perhaps I need to cut the toenails closer:D
Neighbour banged the door with a pile of veg from the garden so we are going to have to find ways to deal with the mountains of tomatoes. Any suggestions for a pretty useless (male!!) cook?
Will have to reciprocate with a few barrel loads off the muck heap. Think I can spare some - only about 40 tonnes there at the mo:eek: .

    Keep smiling

    Morning :hello:

Ooooh I love gory films. I watched Sweeney Todd the other day, I was very disappointed. Not enough gore  :D Do you think there's a link between my fondness for them, and slaughtered pigs? I'm still giggling at people thinking I meant mr troo :rotfl:

We went to Asda yesterday (that was hard for me cos I hate supermarkets lol), Bachelors Savoury Rice was between 46p and 54p per packet (depending on flavour) or buy 5 for £1. So we bought 10 :D They were giving away mini boxes of oat cereal at the door so we grabbed a couple of those too. We bought a hot cooked chicken and ate it when we parked in the forest, we got in right mess lol. Cheapo baby wipes to the rescue, just as well we had them in the car.

Mr troo wants to go the Plymouth today. Or Southampton or Bournemouth, he hasn't decided  We were going to leave at 9.30am but I've just got up and he's still in bed. Hopefully he'll decided it's too late now :D

There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter
  • Troo - do you mind telling me what you got from your pig?

I am looking into buying a half pig at the moment and am weighing up the pro's & co's.

    Many Thanks

Mrs Tittlemouse - we just flicked the channel and saw Tarantino's name come up (I've not been too scared in his other films!) but had no idea how bad it was going to be!

RedRuby - you are one strange lady! How can you deliberately sit through a horror film, on your own and in candlelight?!

I'm fine with sc-fi films; it's the one's that show things that could really happen that I'm not happy with. I still keep thinking about Hostel this morning despite not seeing very much of it. As I said to DH this morning, 'thank heavens I'm not Mrs Tarantino'! I'd never get any sleep!

    Daisychain - welcome to you.

Floss - I don't do a great deal of sewing so I would take Stefejib's advice and go for the best machine you can afford if you intend doing lots of sewing!

Bootsalebabe - I like the sound of Wild West Legends! I'd love to have been around in the days of the Wild West. The Virginian was my favourite TV series when I was younger and my ambition is to visit a proper ranch in Arizona or Oregon. I'd love to ride the prairies rounding up the cattle on one of those fantastic horses. Yeehaa!! Ride 'em cowboy!

Well, back to reality (I came over all cowgirl just then) I've just cleaned the fridge, hung the washing on the line - the supposedly dry-clean only cushion covers have come out really well with no shrinkage so I'm really pleased with that.

I have Impossible Pie in the Remoska and that will do for pudding tonight and tomorrow night.

I can't believe this gorgeous weather - it's like a summer's day. Hope it lasts for more than the weekend.

Well, I need to get the hoover out so see you all later.

  • its way too misty here to bother hanging out any washing the air is so damp, but the plus side is we had a lovely impromptu nature lesson this morning, noticed lots of spider webs on the hedge along the side of ours all full of dewdrops like little sparkling jewels draped in the twigs so i took youngest DS out of a look at them he was facinated by them and we saw lots of diferent shapes and patterns. He wants all the art stuff out tonight so he can make some himself. It made me laugh his grandma does bobbin lace and he said it looked like shes been along with her bobbins:rotfl:

ive promised myself coffee 1/2 hours knitting then ive got a parcel to post off and i must get some HW done
