  • Hi all!

just signing in to catch up with you all!

Beth - So glad your OH is improving every day.
Mellika - Big hugs for you honey
    Jackie - Enjoy your trip!
jannnyannie - I remember the power cuts when I was a kid. The times were posted up in the local post office so you knew, and my mum woul dget the candles all set up for us. No central heating back then anyway, but we had the calor gas heater to keep us warm, and mum made us sandwiches and filled a flask with hot water so she could have a cup of tea!
Welcome Daisychain! You will enjoy it here I promise, and btw, I love your nic!
Mioliere - I hesitated over watching Hostel but was alone so didn't want to frighten myself so I too watched 'Without a Trace' instead!
Kaat honey - I finally went back to bed about 0800 when the OH had gone to his day job! Had another 3 hours sleep which was lovely!

Ok folks, my OH is home so lunch is ready. I am making a suasage and bean casserole thing tonight for dinner - one of our favourite meals.

    *Hugs* to all

  • Other news chez Rzl is that there's a planning application in to put a Tesco Express into the empty commercial space at the bottom of my block of flats. I have lodged several points of objection to the plans as have many of my neighbours, but in fact I have very mixed feelings about it, and think that if they make certain modifications to the plans and allow it to go ahead there is a chance it could have wider benefits for the very run-down neighbourhood I live in - I'm not normally a Tesco fan... We shall see!
    Rzl xx

Guess what Bargain Rzl.............they are closing down OUR local Sainsburys today:mad: ....and changing it to a poxy Shell garage!!!!!......but on a better note they have opened a new bigger Sainsburys Local about a 3 minute drive away:j :j :j :j and OH has scored some excellent bargains there:D

Anyway, we are just about to leave and collect DD from school then travelling to my sisters for the night. I have packed 2 bottles of wine that OH likes (I think the BF is a belly beer drinker:p ) and we may stop at M&S and get a small cheese board to share this evening with the lovely wine. I'm not allowed to drink, but I will inhale it and have my fizzy water:rolleyes: ....Sister is doing a Roast Beef Dinner but I can always bring the cheese board back with us as she doesnt like it much.

    Hugs to all.

Celyn - how come you're awake now, have you given up sleep altogether?! Loving the stories about what's going in front of the camera though!

Kathy - I hate, hate, hate scary films! Even the Disney ones bother me! There's enough misery in the world, give me something funny any day, though I do like rubbishy old 60's and 70's shows like the Saint and the Avengers, not really scary as not much like real life!

Jo - hope the scan goes well, never had one so can offer no info xx

Mrs Mix - glad ds's money has been sorted out, pain about your car though, hope it's ok and doesn't cost anything to sort out.

Jayward - hope you have a lovely weekend to make up for your week

Smokey - taxi sounds like the way to go definitely, you'll really appreciate not standing around in the rain and cold, plus more time in bed, yippee! Hope the bedroom furniture reshuffle makes it possible for you to settle.

Stef - nice to have you back properly with us! Glad the annoying biddy is being transferred! Your dgs sounds lovely, bless his little heart, your and your dd must've been so proud.

Heidi - well done on the spending, this OS lark isn't that difficult really is it, just involves a bit of thinking and planning! Hay is a great bargain, friends are moaning about price increases here cos so much got caught in the bad weather.

Well I still have no pressie for my friend, but I popped into Asda to grab some loo rolls and potatoes, oh boy sounds like a very interested dinner coming up! Best of all potatoes, their smart price ones, were 59p a bag, got one of new pots and one of normal ones, also found some ys bakers reduced to 50p. There was quite a bit of ys stuff around, I can't believe that I'm lucky finding so much lately, it must be that the shops are all having to discount more stuff as we aren't buying so much.

Grabbed some more of the batchelors rice as well, thanks for the reminder here, also they've got the noodles on 5 for £1, but dd3 prefers the smart price 7p ones! Felt very virtuous only getting what I needed then I got to the till and dd3 talked me into the breast cancer lip gloss, 2 per pack, so we had one between us! Still it's a good cause.

Took dd to the drive thru at maccy d's for her lunch, well there's no point trying to save money if you can't treat them sometimes, and she's the only one of mine who is actually full for 5 mins after she's eaten there! Though she came home and devoured several twink's hobnobs, so perhaps not very full then.

The two local first schools are closed today which is nice, cos it means her friends are off as well, so they're all currently rollerblading up and down the road, wish I had their energy!

Just taken the rolls out of moski, and thrown bolognese ingredients into sc for their dinner tomorrow, bm going, and will have to get the stir fry mix out of the freezer in a bit, 5p a ys bag, bargain, no beansprouts so froze them! Got a bit of paperwork to do, so will sort that out and then that is it, I'm done!

Going to listen to Sherlock from this morning on radio 7 now and relax.

Hi jo, I had an MRI scan about a year ago, I was so nervous, but the staff are lovely and talk to you on and off throughout the proceedure. I had a lovely young nurse, she kept asking if I was alright and giving me a running commentary on the weather, things like.... "its still raining you know, and I am supposed to be going away with my boyfriend this weekend I hope it stops, its our first weekend away together"..... and then told me how wonderful he was....young luv eh!!!;)
She chattered away for most of the time, I didnt mind I love hearing about other people, (OH said I am nosy) :D
Then suddenly she said "all done" Its bloomin noisy though, clanking and banging, but they tell you about that, its the magnets, when they move them to another position, nothing to worry about.
Hope this helps a bit :D

    Me again,
I just want to thank you all for your hugs and good wishes for my Mum (and me) I have had a day off today but will be going over tomorrow, my sister is coming up too so we will spend some time together, that will be nice.
Mum is getting better slowly, but still is very pale, hopefully now she is eating she will start to get her strength back.
Hi rzl nice to see you back :T
Kathy I switched over at a very  bit and wish I had'nt, soon switched back though. I used to watch scary films, when OH and I were first out together, we went to the pics once a week then, back row of course and the scarier the better, gave me an excuse to keep grabbin him :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

welcome to you both Heidi and daisychain you will gets loads of tips and ideas about all sorts of things on here, and save loads too :j

Someone mentioned power cuts for this winter, sorry cant remember who now :o
The thought of cuts bothers me too, we have no gas other than the combi and the heating...can it be used without the electric to start it off though... I have a couple of battery lanterns I bought last year from poundland. They have been very useful when the DGD's come, as they cant reach the light in the bedroom so they each have one of these by the side of the bed. They carried them around with them all the time they were here, then took them home so I bought some more. Must get some batteries in stock though, I also have a wind up torch, thats really good, and I heard somewhere about a wind up radio, but cant remember where :o Also got lots of candles, so thats the lighting sorted out, just the cooking now. Might be an idea to get a couple of them disposible BBQ's.
    I'm getting carried away now
    off for a :coffee:

    Afternoon all,

Pippa, glad your dear mum is on the mend, hugs to all xx
  • No time to post more - but I did it! I went with little bear on the bus into town and back!

And after a far too quick skim of the posts, the thing about brain scans is that they are proof that you have one.
