Well update on my tummy problems, they now think something is twisted or blocked so MRI scan is needed, little bit scared about that...going into the tunnel thing sounds scary, anyone had one before?
......
Yep, not too bad but I kept my eyes closed. They can be quite noisy - bangs & thuds as the scanning technology bits work. Sometimes they have piped music in, or ask if you can take an iPod in to keep you company. I found the worst bit was having to keep still - and mine was a brain scan, so not as much of me to try & stay motionless. I think the main thing to rememebr is its a means to an end & should help to diagnose the problem.0 -
HI - (((hugs))) to JO and PenPin. Thinking about you both.
Welcome to Heidiboo!
Foeversomeday - Impossible Pie is a recipe that Aussie Lass posted some time ago (she's MIA at the moment, hope she's OK). Here is the recipe from the notes I scribbled down:
I cup sugar
Half cup plain flour
Quarter teaspoonful baking powder
Pinch salt
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 eggs
Half teaspoon vanilla essence
1 cup milk
1 cup coconut
Mix sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Add the butter and stir, then add the beaten eggs and milk, stir again and add the coconut and vanilla essence.
Pour into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderate oven (gas 5 which I think is 180/350 electic) for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top. It makes its own pastry base with sauce in the middle and a crispy top. It's very yummy. I have also made it with a couple of tablespoons of drinking chocolate powder and that's delicious, too!
Well, I'd better get some more work done!
See you all later.

Well that was fun. Dgs didn't even let us through the gate before he was waving us goodbye. When we did get in he had to be dragged out to kiss his mummy goodbye. she was very good too - no tears - the same can't be said for me though. some of the other children cried - at home time! We've just picked him up again - short day today - and he's told us at least 50 times that he's going back next week. It was "good" and he did "stuff" - blessI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080

Good morning all! I’ve been MIA so much lately I wonder if I’m remembered. ( Thanks for my waves, mioliere, sorry I’ve not thanked for all of them) My dear sis-in-law has had a knee replacement (ouch!!!!) and so I’ve taken over her childcare duties and gym club duties, to add to all my own duties. Add in hospital visiting for hours, and consequently I’m knackered.
I’ve tried to catch up but have probably failed miserably. Meanmarie, I so hope things turn out OK for you and Ulick. Thoughts, prayers and strength winging their way to you both.
Smokybabe, sounds like you are very busy. That’s a great idea to redo your bedroom. If you still can’t settle to it, then I think swapping with the boys is a very good plan. Whatever you decide, ((hugs)) and love to you and the little ones. Great about the taxi:D
Pink, hope you’re coping with the temporary loss of Miss Pink. Your purse will now be able to recover.
JackieO, have a great weekend, (and I'd echo Stef, you dance on the table:D )
OS has paid fleeting visits these past few days, but then again, is there anything more OS than family and friends. Dust and washing go nowhere ( in my experience) but family need us now. I’m off soon to make 3 dozen cupcakes for DGS1’s birthday party tomorrow ( although his birthday is actually on Sunday)
I’ve actually got another 3 birthdays over this weekend, so must go and buy some gifts and birthday cards.
It’s M&S £10 deal again this weekend. I’ve bought two lots.:p I will not apologise, to me it’s jolly good value, and when you consider my sanity it's priceless. I’ve read the ingredients panel and there’s not one that wouldn’t appear in my cupboard or fridge, not an artificial ingredient anywhere:D I may even flick a duster around, and pour some vinegar into the *comfort* drawer of the washing machine.
((hugs))) for those in need. Hope you all have good days. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

I sat a the computer trying to find some photos of the kid's I had taken to find dh has deleted them:mad:

jo - I've had a couple of MRI scans (again brain scans) and they are a bit wierd at first - but they will let you out I promise
They clunk and whirr a little bit but they will give you a button to press if you want to call someone and you can always see the operators so you don't feel alone. The operators I've had have always been really nice and chatty so don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions.
Anniestar - we miss youhope you are okay
smoky - I think the taxi is a good choice too
moiliere - hostel?! _pale_ *shudders* I'm way to chicken for that. I used to like scary films then I went to a midnight showing of the exorcist years ago - thinking what effect can such an old film have.... then didn't sleep properly for ages :roftl:
Marie - hugs to you and Ulick
Beth - glad Ben is doing so well
mehefin - I used to find my safety shoes rubbed like nothing an earth and just ate socks - in the end I glued a little bit of fabric on the inside of the shoe underneath the cap and that seemed to work.
 daisy and heidi welcome to OS
squiggly - I think there's probably an element of truth in that - I've never actually met OH's ex and she is very troublesome sometimes - it's hard to watch OH's reaction to that as her behaviour does frustrate him a lot - I know if she was happier we may get more peace. I think I also don't understand her very much as I'm ruled much more by my head than my emotions, so her behaviour is sometimes quite illogical (how star trek does that sound :rotfl: ). I don't like watching people tear themselves apart and I feel useless because I can't do anything.
I had my tesco delivery turn up yesterday - and had to send half of it back as most of the bogof stuff I'd chosen had been substituted. I ordered the Kath kidston bags too, but they didn't come either. It was nice of them to still take of the spend coupon though - even though the order total was way below what it should have been after they took stuff off the bill. We acquired a cat as it was being unloaded, but managed to find it later and put it back outside :rotfl: work again today - email from dr jeckyll - took our directors advice, but was way more polite than he was.The test card has been replaced with a video of the lab speeded up and set to Benny hill music :rotfl: Oh to have time to do that
have a good day all, and hugs to those that need them, cel x

Thanks ivyleaf for carrying on waving...
Anyway, hello everybody. Sorry to hear about sick people, as ever. I feel a bit rubbish today myself (coming down with a bug) but am disinclined to moan when I know what some of you and your loved ones have to put up with every single day! I'm just about to go out and buy something for lunch, I did bring a portion of chilli and rice with me this morning to go in the microwave but then I remembered just how many days it's been languishing in the fridgeand given that I am singing at a wedding tomorrow for quite a nice wad of cash, I think spending £4 on lunch to prevent me getting food poisoning is an investment worth making...
Other news chez Rzl is that there's a planning application in to put a Tesco Express into the empty commercial space at the bottom of my block of flats. I have lodged several points of objection to the plans as have many of my neighbours, but in fact I have very mixed feelings about it, and think that if they make certain modifications to the plans and allow it to go ahead there is a chance it could have wider benefits for the very run-down neighbourhood I live in - I'm not normally a Tesco fan... We shall see!
I'm off out tonight, reviewing a show (well there's a surprise). ((((Hugs)))) for all in need of them. My office syndicate has entered the euro millions and there are 25 of us so I'm hoping for about £4m
Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

moliere I hate horror films / books. DD1 had to write a story this week for school which had to have a twist in it. She had a woman alone in a house who kept hearing things and thought it was the dog. the twist at the end was this horrible figure coming out of the shadows:eek: . DD1 read it to me to see what I thought last night . It was very good but then neither of us dare go upstairs to bed!:rotfl:
JO132000 DD1 had an MRI she was fine .they put headphones on her with music they talked to her throughout and she was ok, a little bored of having to lie still ( hers was for her back)
I stayed in with her and i did notice it does clank and bang a bit.
they understand people are anxious about it and are very good so please dont worry x0
