  • Morning everyone, damp but bright morning in CD,had a busier day yesterday than anticipated, when DH got in from work we tidied out the shed, how could so much rubbish get into one little space is beyond me! All washing ,
up to date and made a lasagne for tea.
Ordered a new shower cubicle from ebay for delivery on Monday so another job for DH to get a start on! He is working again this weekend so no night out for us. We were supposed to be going to camp with our friends, we are both members of the Wild West Legends, a country and western society that re-enacts life in the 1800's, and puts on shows for charity. It's great fun and we have made lots of new friends. It's also very OS as we cook on a campfire using wood we collect, no electric or gas!! Unfortunatley the field we meet in is waterlogged so camp is off!
Well off now to have a look on the net for some new bathroom tiles, have a good day all BSB xx

  • Morning all,

blue sky here, must get some washing out on the line while it's nice...

AnnieBL, I'm sure it's too much going round in your head that causes that sort of forgetfulness, I've done it myself when life is manic.... (and when it's not, lol!!!) Fingers crossed for the car...(and for Kathy's next week).

If we're going to have powercuts then I must get some more candles/matches, just in case. It just feels like our society is regressing further & further back in time at the moment?!?!
Hester, hope things are getting sorted at work now (like the idea of poking her with the knitting needles!)
Mellika, glad you are enjoying your course. (((hugs))) to you today, I find it's the little things that can hit you sometimes & make you miss someone special very much.
    Taplady, enjoy your course too!!!
Redruby, that's really not good enough - like you say, give it another chance & then definitely complain to the college. (lots of people busy doing training/studying!)
Smokey, I'd definitely go for the taxi option too!!! Sounds like you're "doing a betheebee" with the house too, I hope you manage to settle a bit more now & get some decent sleep. (((((hugs))))
Pipkin, thanks for that link re npower, I shall have a look to see if it's relevant for my mum.
Scuzz, hope your Nan is ok. I could recommend a builder/window installer if you would like his details (known him a long time, local lad, pretty reasonable).
Beth, glad that Ben is improving daily - and Marie, hopefully Ulick will be doing the same.

Oops, forgot to say welcome daisychain, and any other newbies I have missed!!!

Must finish the rest of yesterday's work for the office in a minute as was at the school parents' eve for over 3 hours, it was really busy which was good :)

Got my mum's HM shepherd's pie in the fridge for dinner later :)

((((((((((hugs)))))))))) for all those needing/wanting them.

    Morning All

I've just finished reading yesterdays page and this morning so far.

Hugs to everyone. Sun is already out here (Diss) and the mist/fog is clearing quite quickly. Looking out the window its 98% blue sky with the odd fluffy cloud! Shame I shall be in the office all day today :o

Popped in2 see mum on way home from work yestereday to get an upd8 on gd. He had his op ok Wednesday - only needed a triple bypass not the anticipated quadruple, there was a bit of bleeding they took a while to stop but they expected this and said it was due to the meds he was on. By 6pm last night he was awake and sitting up in bed chatting up the nurses! I've decided we shall wait until he is home home before we go see him - give him something to look forward to, and its nearer (Ipswich).

Well, better get a shift on I've got 10 mins to feed cat, hang washing out and get dressed before I need to leave for work . DS1 is off school again today the school emailed me yesterday to say if he was still contagious then he shouldn't be back at school and he has promised me that he will tidy his room till it shines like a shiny thing! Oh and what is one more day off school?? I haven't really got the energy to argue with him about it.

    Bye for now

we had to have the landing light on for weeks after that! I don't like being scared half to death and don't understand how anyone can watch gruesome films.

I on the other hand love them :D , I was a single parent for years, and my weekly treat, once my dd was in bed, was a few glasses of wine, and the scariest film I could find, I loved the halloween films, and would sit and watch them with candles flickering, and then go off to bed and sleep like a baby :rotfl: , I like the slightly jumpy feeling :D

Some more info on the NPower scheme:

When working out your annual income, NPower don't take any disability benefits into account, so when I phoned they just wanted to know how much I received in IS and child benefits.

The phone number to call to see if you're eligible is 0800 975 1373 and they are open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm.

You receive the first discount in January 09, which for me will be the £125, then every quarter [starting April] you will receive a discount of £31.25. Obviously, if you have both gas and electric, the discounts will apply to each bill. This plan will be a long term thing too, which is good.

    Morning all

Diva - I agree about the website - I really need the nagging you know :D

JackieO - DO be the one who dances on the table

Hester - my friend texted me yesterday to say that our "Pam" is being moved to another section. Yay - she is someone who puts a lot of effort into doing beggar all

Floss2 - get the best machine you can afford - I'm struggling with an aldi one at the moment - dear santa I have been ever such a good girl this year and really deserve a Bernina - ta

DD and dgs are on their way for a cup of tea at Nana's before we head off to school - he starts at 9.30 today. He is so excited and is stomping about in his his new shoes - the downstairs neighbours must be loving that. I'm hoping that dd will sort herself out now. She is a very very young Mum and is very very protective of him and finds it hard to let him go to a childminder or anything like that - I think she feels that she has to be Perfect Mum as so many people were against her having him. I was hoping that she wouldn't have a baby no. 2 before dgs went to school. Fingers crossed she will go to college or something now.

Plans for the rest of the day are some light flying followed by some painting

    Hugs to you all

I'm not very good when it comes to horror films.

I have this game withh DD2 though, where we flick over to the horror channel, then quickly flick back. A couple of times we've seen a disturbing image, but I will only do it during the day so you can imagine the type of images we see. It's still enough to make me flick back to the other channel quickly :rotfl:
