    I got an email from Tesco's today (CS) as i wrote a stinker of a letter, reply was............


    Thank you for your email.

    I sincerely apologise that we were unable to inform you sooner that we were out of stock of some of the wine you ordered.

    When your order was placed, the wine was in stock on our database. However, your order would be sent to our warehouse approximately four days before it was due to be delivered to you. It is likely that during this period of time, we have sold more than anticipated.

    We do try to ensure that this does not happen. Unfortunately, on this occasion the product you requested was not available by the time your order was ready to be picked. Also, as our orders are picked from a central warehouse, and not from the store, we were unable to substitute lines for you due to one or more of the following reasons:

    The store may not sell the line;
    We do not know what a customer likes or dislikes, or
    The pricing structure in store is different from our on-line warehouse.

    Our chief executive is Sir Terry Leahy who can be contacted on
    customer.services@tesco.co.uk.

    I am very sorry for the disappointment caused on this occasion.

    If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at

    I know, I sent an email correcting the email address with another attached letter, suppose i'll have 2 wait another 5 days for a response!

    But fair play to my latest CS girl, she was straight on the phone to me today after 9 minutes of being on shift, to say she has booted my local store up the butt to refund me my £75, and she refunded me last night the further £17. And I'm only to ring her so she can refund me next week too icon7.gif

    That email doesn't make sense on many levels!

    The store may not sell the line; - It's not coming from the store!

    We do not know what a customer likes or dislikes, - It was a MIXED case, so any ONE of the 6 bottles would've been a satisfactory replacement!

    Then only he should be allowed to open it.


    When i worked in customer services a letter to the chair always got results!! (not tescos)

    WOW didn't expect that.........................12 bottles have just turned up (that's 18 with the 6 I received last week!), all I have to do now is claim back the £29 refund that's owed!
