I sought some advice from CAB today.
They said that legally there was nothing that I could do, but suggested a letter to the CEO complaining about the appalling '!!!!-up' might be appropriate. Hopefully, it might result in a £xx voucher.0 -
Just been onto tesco's for the best part of 1/2 hour. Both call taker and her manager flatly refused to reorder wine at original price - regardless of the multitude of errors that they have made and the bother that I have gone through. - Even though I repeatedly pointed this out and they admitted to it all !!!!!
The manager did say though that the orders were originally cancelled (correctly by their procedures) because wine went out of stock and then the email went out to everybody because they couldnt tell who had received the wine and who hadnt.
I'm a little annoyed to be honest - Ok we were trying it on and some you win, some you lose but their dishonesty and ineptitude has got me seething.
I tend not to be too bothered when offers don't come through but the fact that they have blatently lied about this and are trying to cover it up makes me not want to let the matter lie.
I can feel my first letter of complaint coming.................0 -
LOL just to add to the confusion, did anyone else receive an e-voucher for groceries on their original order confirmation for the wine???
Mine says;
When you spend £50 or more on next grocery shop, simply enter the
eCoupon code below at the grocery checkout and £5 will be will be deducted
from your final bill.

Just to add more confusion confusion confusion!
The email that was sent out was only meant for the people who received the wine!
So anyone who never got the wine should never have received this email!
They offered me a a case for £12! I refused.
She said the cases did run out! i said, 'you just told me that the 12 pack case never existed'
TALK ABOUT BANGING YOUR HEAD AGAINST A BRICK WALL!:wall: :wall: :wall:
I think we need to gather all the information, who ordered at what time, when did arrive etc etc?
Next stage?
P.S The Duty Manager i spoke with was Elaine McDougall (new start)
I asked for the cheif executives email, she said it doesn't exist??0 -
I just go the e-mail offering £12 refund - but I did not get any wine so should not have paid anything
Sent them an e mail back stating this. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
I was just going to accept the 12 pounds by way of compensation for the hassle and forget the b....y wine. The email isn't even accurate - the wine is still available on the webpage.0

Well, his name is Terry Leahy, and at a guess he would be terry.leahy@tesco.com
This web site appears to agree http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html
but I can't vouch for it's accuracy..
And they might be sneaky and just have a fake mail box for this name, could be worth a try though - just be polite because his PA will probably read it first and you REALLY don't want to upset them!!0 -
But if you followed today's business news there is a rumour that Terry Leahy is to leave Tesco and join some Government Task Force or other. He's denied the rumours, but I imagine the boss of a multi-billion pound business empire isn't going to give a stuff just because his Customer Services staff lie to their customers. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0

I just got an e mail from Tesco saying that it would take them up to 72 hours to get round to reading my e mail!
Seems they are also having problems with Dr Who sets and robo toys.
If they had just honoured the deal and sent 2 cases of six or else been honest about the mistake and sent one case with say a voucher off next purchase they would have saved themselves a lot of time and money."This site is addictive!"
