I think I still pay bt.
Things are ALWAYS very complicated with Pipex.Doesnt matter how organized and competant you are-they ALWAYs balls it up!!0 -
Yupp, same as hollydays and I absolutely agree with her too! If you just joined broadband then all you need is their MAC. I joined just their broadband and if I find out otherwise, I think I will go
Holldays, one question she did ask me that I remember is, are you with Pipex or are you with Pipex Homecall. I was like "errrr you tell me. How the heck am I supposed to know?" I said, "when I joined I was told it's Pipex. Never heard of any homecall being added onto the sentence." She said "Ok" and generated the MAC.0 -
When I joined them they were homecall, then they became Pipex homecall, then I think they just became Pipex, thats what worries me.I am on the broadband /phone package. I am on a half megabite package,a bt speedtest (just put in your phone number) shows its capable of taking a max of 4 and a half mega bites.
OH getting arsey because he doesn't like my son gettin involved,grr..OH knows a lttle, but I have done the reseach.Son knows a lot but OH male pride getting in the way....0 -

Oh dear.... men and their pride. Good luck on that one. My OH does that too. Tried to convert him to o2 Broadband explaining all my problem with Pipex (he's now Pipex Bulldog!) and he's going Sky. And he hasn't even attempted to sort it. This was back in July! Well, it's in his own flat so I was just like "do whatever you want but don't come crying to me when it all goes wrong!" :rolleyes:When I joined them they were homecall, then they became Pipex homecall, then I think they just became Pipex, thats what worries me.I am on the broadband /phone package. Hopefully they won't ask you that - I've read so many forums on Pipex, I've not seen anyone else being asked that question. I think she was just testing me. Tell him/her you're Pipex Homecall and if they say no, then explain it and say you were never ever told it's just Pipex. Anyway, it's only Pipex by name, they are owned by Tiscali now so tell him/her not to get too smart. And I don't even see the necessity of it. A MAC code is a MAC code, giving a different name isn't going to generate a different MAC code.
Half a meg package?!!!! How long have you been a customer with them?!!! But 0.5MBPS is really slow. If you were with o2 or Sky who use ADSL2+ you'd probably not get 4MBs but about at least 8-10MBPS!
If I were you, I would move! Pipex aren't even worth the headache it's causing you!0 -
I think its time you grasped the nettle! Have a stiff drink and get on the phone to the evil empire. You have nothing to lose.
Hello I'm ringing to ask you to provide me with my Migration Authorisation Code.
Go on go on, you can do it!:beer:That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
yes,I know i should penrhyn, but as OH is arsey at the moment when it goes wrong he is going to say-you shouldn't have changed, why didn't you do what I said!!
I am going to attempt it later today then!!0 -
Damn-just had a horrible thought!
OH is the principal account holder,I have a password so I can deal with problems over the phone.
Whats the betting they say they can't give me the mac code!!0 -
If you have the password then that gives you access to the account. Thats what they normally say.
Just say you are the principal account holder. They can't see you so they can't turn around and say you don't sound like a man! ;-)0 -
I can't make my voice that deep..0
-
Haha! That's not what I meant. What I mean is even if you use your own voice, they can't turn around and say "Sorry you don't sound like Mr Holldays, you sound like Ms Hollydays!" As far as I'm aware, they aren't allowed to do that unless they can miraculously see you through their phone.
If you say, you are Mr Hollydays, you are Mr Hollydays and if you can give the password, they can't say anything else. (I pretend to be my Dad sometimes when I need to use his account! :P) They can't accuse you of not having a deep enough voice.0
