The only problem with waiting for a letter from Dell is that it is going to be harder to get hold of the TV from another company and Dell will only give you upto £150 of the difference but a valid receipt has to be provided.

I know Dell have dealt with the situation badly but I cannot see them going back on their word as you would have even more ammunition to take it to court and the offer that they are giving is recognised in las as "loss of bargain".
  • Err its alright for some, what about the ones who got the faulty rev A03 models with hissing speakers. accept a refurb or money back is the only option and emails being ignored or passed to other departments.

They are just waiting for the 30 days to pass then they have you by the short and curlies.

How do I get a refund as I just keep getting put through to a maze and then get told I've arrived at the wrong support line at the end!

Need this sorting ASAP, screw replacements/refurbs/upgrades/bargain loss, all I want is plain vanilla full purchase cost refund in my bank account.
  • I have a faulty A03 and after bombarding dell with emails i have finally just had a phone call telling me I can have a refund only and if I purchase elsewhere I will get £150 back towards the purchase. BUT she didnt mention whether it had to be a Dell or not. I assume it has to be?? I also notice those that do have the w2600 left have put their prices up so would make this a more expensive option.

The only thing putting me off now is the fact that if anything goes wrong after 12 months who is going to fix it.

I ordered one on Friday from https://www.aria.co.uk for £514.37 but not sure if they have any left at that price as I seen some the other day on their site for £540. I presume it has to be a Dell LCD TV with the same spec but you could always email Gillian_Larkin@Dell.com and ask her to clarify if it has to be the same TV.

Regarding the warrenty I presume it is the same as any other item by it is only guarenteed by the manufactorer for 12 months unless you take out an extended warrenty or take out a warrenty from a company to cover the TV
  • If you are with the Nationwide you get a 2nd years warranty by using their credit card to pay for it

You could try and contact Gillian_Larkin@Dell.com by email and ask her to get a refund sorted for you as she is sorting my £150 back onto my credit card so she seems to have some authority and she has just read one of my emails so she is still in the office. Better emailing rather that phoning the 0870 numbers and just keep on getting passed around

Arias are now £540 (I wonder why).
With regards to warranty, its not the 12mths as standard its the fact that Dell do not fix monitors and you can not get OEM parts for them, as the manufacture wont release them so doubt very much if you can get them fixed.

So the question is , if the TV's go belly up within 12 months what's Dell going to do about it ?
What are your rights about getting a non fixeable non available TV ?
