...umm, got the same email - doubt they'll source 26" for everyone, wonder how they'll resolve this?

There are new 23inch versions on the US site so maybe they'll offer those (they have better specs 16ms response time etc) once they are released in the UK. I honetly have no idea, but its just a thought.

I haven't received that email yet though.

Just gave in and called them - managed to get the Irish call centre. A very helpful girl checked with Sonia for me. She is basically emailing every hour to get an update, she said the meeting did happen but so many departments are involved that no decision was reached - or rather the call centre team have not been told of any decision. She sounded really frustrated and in fact sounded much more upset than I am, she said a lot of angry customers are calling because they were told a decision would be made by now, but they don't have anything to tell them because they haven't been told anything.

She said they have now been told they will have a decision for customer by the end of the day, but she didn't really sound hopefully to be honest.
  • Perhaps the time for moaning to each other and letting each other know what we have done individually is over?

My name is Lawrence Foster and I have an order confirmation for 2 x W1900 and 1 X W2600 so I will be staying the course.

The problems I have mainly stem from having to start from scratch each time when calling Dell and never reaching anyone with the authority to sort out this mess.

Viola Joseph in Dell, India has been trying to help but clearly has no authority. We need to identify someone with clout and then make their life a living hell until Dell make an acceptable offer. FYI Viola let slip last night that 1700 people have not had their W1900/W2600 orders fulfilled. This mess might run into millions for Dell which is why they are being so difficult.

If you are interested in forming an action group and the possibility of a class action (joint) lawsuit against Dell (based on T&C Clause 3), please email me:

Please also contact me if you already have the Name and Number or email address of a UK or Ireland Manager so we can move away from dealing with Indian Staff with no authority.
  • I'm in the same boat. A shambles at Dell it would seem :xmassign:

I've had no luck via India other than to be told that my order has been cancelled. This just isn't good enough, I can understand it if I was at the IR stage but I had an order number.

I'm trying to leverage my business contacts in Dell to get a decent email or UK contact.

I've even tried calling the EMEA HQ but just route to Asia.

Can I suggest the following approach:-

    1. Bombard by Fax. Number is 01344 372363

    2. Bombard by email. Format of emails seems to be Firstname_Initial_Surname@dell.com

    3. Contact consumer's association. Editor is malcolm.coles@which.co.uk

At least let's keep as a unit on this, reporting findings to this forum. :money: where are you when we need you Martin?

Just speaking to a guy I know who works for Dell and he says that they have been forced to buy all their stock back from places like Ebuyer in an effort to fulfill orders.

If Dell are buying back them back to fulfill orders that seems to imply that they think they are definitely in the wrong...

    From AV Forums
i just spoke with trading standards who have told me that as long as they have refunded our money they are in compliance with the law, regardless of their T&C's. It seems fairly much madness to me, but thye made it clear that there would be no case to answer from their point of view and that the best thing i could do would be to not used dell again and to deter others from doing so (i liked that bit)... and so i guess an unfortunate saga ends.

If they are buying them back from places like ebyuer, which had around 73 I imagine there will be quite a slim chance of getting one if like was mentioned before there are actually 1700 people looking for one.
