I have just spoken to companies house who stated that they haven't received P2U accounts which were due in November.

No wonder they aren't answering the phones!

just read this on Mobile Today...

Phones2udirect boss David Ellis has reassured customers that his online retail business has not shut down and it is still trading. Ellis said that reports of the demise of the business were unfounded: ‘We’re still up and running, 100%. We’ve got some issues but we’re still here.’ He added that problems with the phones2udirect website were caused by upgrades to the site, and would be rectified.

Surely the problem is that dextra have decided not to deal with them anymore (presumably under pressure from the networks as Dextra do seem to have been distributor of choice for the retailers who have gone broke) and so they don't have a distribution deal and don't seem to be able to find one.

Which leaves us in the position of not knowing if they have been so tight on their redemptions that they have some money in the bank to carry on paying out redemptions (to the few % they actually pay out to) or wether they are now burning up the last of any cash reserves paying directors salaries (presumably as they are no longer doing any trading they have laid off all their other staff). I don't suppose they are bringing in very much through their e2save referrals....
Interestingly I got a marketing email from them this morning - again just referal links but presumably sent out to reassure that they are still in business.
    I think....
  • My latest update is that Phones2U have defended my recent court claim saying they paid me the first cheque in august! And therefore they do not owe me costs! This is purely a ploy to set aside the judgement i entered against them and now i will be going to court to ask them to provide proof of the cheque they sent. Incidentally they are trying to cover themselves saying that according to their records they sent the cheque but they are investigating and if it turns out the cheque wasnt cashed they will happily sort it out! The money was due in the middle of august and it has taken this court case for them to investigate! This company clearly only pay out to those people who are willing to waste their time and money on taking them to court and meanwhile get away without paying out to anybody else. It is a shame we are fighting alone in the small claims court and we cant do anything to stop this comopany from trading altogether. Is there anyway i canget together a list of all the claims filed against Phones2U as evidence that poeple have to go to court to get their money for my pending court case? thanks
  • I am also trying to receive my cashback from phones2udirect via claims online.Phones2udirect have disputed part of my claim and it has been moved to Aylesbury court. I believe these are just time wasting tactics.

    Hello,

I received my cheque on the 22Dec after they failed to present their defence. I have put in the cheque same day for clearence. If you have a strong caase they will pay. At this stage they are trading, but I think they are having serious problems and are using all the tricks to avoid paying.Question is for how long. I will update when cheque clears. Good luck with your claim
