Tesco - Customer Service

So you recon Sir Terry Leahy's a chav?
I think dreamnine has the equivalent of small person syndrome- self concious about something so has to pick on supermarket staff to make themself feel better. The funny thing is, my wife gets these sorts in every day- the sort that thinks people work at Tesco because their chosen path didn't work out- the moment they're out of the store, my wife and her staff are howlng at this nobody who came in, tried to speak down to them but walked away with no more than good service.
£30k pa plus bonuses and free shares, discounts etc. If that makes her a chav, then I'm proud to have married the dirty failure0 -
i work in tesco and enjoy what i am doing and treat customers the way i would like to be treated,i have been there 5 years and the problem seems to be that when new staff come in they are not trained properly anymore, they are just thrown into it and also with the influx of polish workers that have come over has slashed morale for the workers that have been hear for a long time as they are rude and dont care as they are only hear for the money the amount of pollish that i have seen come and go is unreal and they just get replaced for more i think that tesco need to employ more people from local areas and train them better so that it dose not put to good people down that have worked there way up

Shainshburys food does taster better than Tescho.
However Teshco have worked hard to get were they are today. Granted they are at times far more expensive than some other retailers but Where is your capitalistic mindset ? CAPITALISM works.....suck on the Tesco might suck on their tesco clubcard points and grovel before Sir Terry Leahy....GROVEL0 -
I do, I always treat other people the way I wish to be treated, however I get the same store workers as the OP.
The staff are paid to be there, customers are paying to be there, surely that should make a difference to their attitude?
Absolutely not! BOTH should be equally polite and pleasant:D .
I am not a store worker - but I would have to say that the staff in both my Tesco stores (the one in Carmarthen and the one in Cardigan) are lovely, chatty, cheerful and helpful - top marks to you if any of you are reading.:T
I have, however, stood in horror behind people at the Customer Service Desk whilst they have been rude, arrogant and downright nasty about something sad and trivial - and they wonder they then do not get nice service:rolleyes: .
I have always believed that the staff are NOT to blame for a product being wrong, or a system not being to my liking. I, therefore, approach asking for help with a smile and explain politely and I have NEVER been treated badly in either of these Tesco stores, nor the huge one at Fforestfach near Swansea.
Because I chat to the people on the tills on my weekly shop, I know several by name, and they have stopped to speak in the street, and when I lost my mum (with whom I had always shopped, and who also chatted happily with the cashiers) several of those that had known us to talk to were quite upset and sad to loose her and very kind to me for getting a little overcome when they innocently asked where she was and had to be told my bad news.
I find the staff in my local Morrisons less switched on and helpful, and those in Lidl and Aldi can go either way some being quite pleasant, one or two being plain awful because they are told to rush you through the till so quickly. No point really, neither store is ever very full - and I suspect this rushing is the main reason why.
I was a Customer Relations Assistant for a Motor Manufacturer for 6 years in a previous life ( ) and I soon learnt that I felt much more inclined to help someone who came on the line and explained their problem nicely and without swearing at me, than I did to help the ranting, swearing and abusive. I always made a point of treating the latter fairly, but never, ever, went the extra mile for them:D . You get far more out of life with sugar than a stick!"there are some persons in this World who, unable to give better proof of being wise, take a strange delight in showing what they think they have sagaciously read in mankind by uncharitable suspicions of them"(Herman Melville)0 -
Ive never had a bad experience with any retailer but for Richer Sounds. I hadnt even brought an Item before the manager started to tell lies (ugly guy in croydon).
Tesco, never had a problem. Most people who complain are usually the scum sucking peseants who frequent these sites looking for compensation, the wannabe americans......lol.....burp...0 -
Had to go to Tesco tonight YUK.
Only because the road to Sainsbury's was heavy with traffic and somehow we'd managed to not have any fruit or vegetables at home.
I'm still shuddering!Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -

I would of took a detour to Waitrose but then again I have taste. S'pose Sainsburys is better than Tesco but only marginally. However if your idea of fresh fruit is Sainburys then I ahem....well....er.....horses for courses etc...:rotfl:0
