Not true; I withdrew £4000 in cash recently and it was given to me in four sealed envelopes.

Well I hope like hell you opened the four sealed envelopes and counted the money before you left !
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    Thanks again.

But just so others don't take offence, I'll point out the obvious:
    1. Haggis are native to our rugged hillsides and don't venture near roads.
    2. By funny clothes I'm guessing you mean traditional kilts and highland wear? Some prefer pearly queen and morris dancing outfits - takes all sorts I guess. What I can say is that there's never any shortage of positive attention whenever I've worn my kilt out of an evening. Would agree with you that it's not the kilt that counts, it's what you put in it ;)
    3. Life Buoy soap was first developed by Lever Brothers in 1894. I'm led to believe it hasn't been on sale since 2002. I've never tried it myself, but I think it's supposed to have been cheap and nasty. But if you go to a supermarket you'll see there's lots of newer brands. What I can recommend in total seriousness is any of the products from Arran Aromatics (http://www.arranaromatics.com/index_ie.asp) you'll find their products in the best hotels and maybe some of the more up market outlets. Treat yourself, you won't regret it.

If we can be of further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. :)

Well fielded, I'll give you that.:D

One common point of confusion is regarding the comparson between kilts and morris dancer outfits as articles of national dress, I feel it only fitting to point out that very rarely do you see a group of gentlemen disembarking from an EasyJet flight to watch a football match, completely caned and wearing morris dancer outfits.

If Dan comes from Cardiff, without a doubt he wouldn't have given away the envelopes with the money.

No, what you see is Scottish men looking hot in their kilts and english men still at the back of the bus, drunk on cider doing moonies to poor unfortunate folk behind them...and you know it's true so don't deny it :rotfl:

No. I would have felt a bit conspicuous doing that in front of a queue of people.

I get the feeling some of the people posting about how bank cashiers "always" behave in a certain way have never actually withdrawn a large sum of cash from a bank.

True, but if YouTube ever came up with pay-to-view, that would be a clip I'd pay for in a second. This was the closest I could find http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzfQc_robEM&feature=related

Well there may be an element of truth in what you have to say, and having had the most unfortunate experience yesterday of actually having to walk around in Harrow, I would agree that things have gone down hill - it was like Beirut on a Friday night.

Could you clarify one thing for me? What are these "bus" things that you refer to?
  • Although I do suspect this is a troll alert, I can't help but add my two-penneth.
If the car had been acquired by the trader, the owner that sold to him should have filled in the part of the V5 that stated this and it should have been returned to the DVLA.

  • Although the needle on my troll-o-meter is wobbling a little bit (cashiers coming around to your house?), I'll keep my own opinions on that issue to myself for a while.
Assuming all things to be true then...

I would say that if the bank gave you £5k and they can prove they gave you £5k whilst only charging you £4k, then you owe them £1k and I'm sure they'll use all means at their disposal to get it back. (and if it gets to legal proceedings, then I'm sure they'll involve the police)

If you gave the car seller £5k believing it to be £4k, then he owes you £1k.

However in the case of 'The Bank Vs Harry112', they appear to have proof of the overpayment

In the case of "Harry112 Vs Car Seller', it's your word against his and I'm sure the police won't even give it the time of day.

I really hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction (and for the sake of the other posters on here who've taken time to advise, I hope you're genuine too!)

I find it strange that the cashier was the one who came to deliver the letter...seems dodgy to me

i agree with this comment. why did the bank manager not ring you or call round with a letter ? or even head office ?
surely the bank would ring you if there was a problem and surely the cashier should have known as soon as you left the bank that the mistake had been made, not at the end of the day !!!
ask to see video evidence before you pay anything back
