Just looking for some reassurance really that this is normal, my 10 month old has a bad cold very stuffy, runny nose cough etc all of which she has had before but this time she is off her food wont take more than a few mouthfuls takes her bottle but is vomiting it back up and is sleeping more than usual.
Reading this back I'm thinking that is exactly how I fell when unwell!!! but just a bit worried about the lack of food shes taking.
Any comments to reassure greatly appreciated!0 -

MEDICAL ADVICE
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
Places you CAN go to for advice are your GP, HV (phone and see what the out of hours arrangements are if necessary), local pharmacy, NHS Direct and NetDoctor. Any of those can also give age appropriate advice on how to relieve symptoms.
Before you phone, check her temperature - if you don't have a thermometer then kissing her forehead is one way to check roughly because your lips stay at a more constant temperature than your hands!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Look at the end of the day, you know your baby better than anyone else. If you are worried, call NHS direct.
Personally, as long as my baby was keeping down fluids (or some) I would not be too worried, but then I am a third time mom ...
On the car seat issue, we have a britax eclipse but I wanted to bring to your attention to:
The importance of rear facing chairs
Rear Facing, the way forward
there are other clips on youtube but I find those too upsetting.0 -
Waterstones have a fab sale on at the moment. Just completed Imogen's collection of Gruffalo books for £14.37 instead of about £25. Plus got 7% cashback on Topcashback.co.uk :money: I've had them delivered to a store for free and they'll go away til Christmas.
Got my interview in the morning. It's a bit off that I don't really want the promotion but I do want them to think I was good enough to get it. For those who've missed the story the short version is:
- promotions like this are incredibly rare in my team
- I really wanted the job as it's part time and perfect
- but I really also want a baby and it's only for a year so I couldn't really have both
- my good friend decided to apply, she's already a manager and therefore favourite for the job
Sorted! I just want them to see that I would be good enough (in case something else comes up) but will be delighted that my mate gets the job. Odd huh?!
Wish me luck!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Good luck - hope you come a very close second? Is that right you don't want them to offer you the job - or do you want to get it and turn it down?MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0

My monkey also has a cold, and muggins here gets far too close and of course I have now caught it too. Grrr. I used to get one or two colds a year maybe, now it's like two a month.
I decided we needed a new seat urgently when Joseph was getting annoyed in that straightening body way they do - pushing at the seat with his feet - with so much force that the seatbelt loosened and the seat tipped up - leaving him in a vertical position . He was happier, I was mortified.
So got the MIL to order the Britax Renaissance immediately. He's not really heavy enough yet (just under 9kgs), but I think his head is starting to go above the rim... Which is such a change from the tiny little bundle (with giant coat and hat of course) that first sat in that seat almost a year ago:smileyhea.
Speaking of which, the party preparations are in full swing - I have themed crockery, and goodie bags, balloons, candles, bananas for the banana cake, jelly! and lots of finger food ideas. The entire family is turning up next sunday! Help!:wall:0 -

Good luck with the interview Lu T.
Been doing two Open Uni modules this year. Just got my last assignment back of one course and I've passed the coursework. Just got the big exam to do on Wednesday now.
Still waiting for my last assignment off the other course, but I've already sent in the examinable assignment so that one is all finished. Results for both are due in December. Here I go again on my own....0 -
We got the Maxi Cosi Priorifix because that was one of the best according to Which? at the time. Alice is still actually light enough for the rear facing one but we had to switch her as soon as she was 9kg because she is tall so her head had reached the top of the rear facing seat.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

We got the Britax Evlova 123, really brilliant, comfy and will last him until he is 11. We even bought a second one for MIL car as she has the grandsons so often (their only 3 months apart).
Well DS and DH have been ill all weekend. DS woke screaming and vomitting 3am on Sunday morning, poor sausage, didn't know what to do with himself. He then wouldn't settle for the rest of the night and started vomitting again at 8:30 that morning. Loads of it we both needed a change of clothes every time. I called NHS direct who were really good, especially as he had had his MMR on Thursday and I was worried it was a side effect, but appratently not. It appears he's got a virus and given it to DH now, who is tucked up at home in bed and DS has gone to MIL for the day to give DH chance to rest. I on the other hand am in work and in desperate need of some sleep.
Had something hit my car on the motorway to work this morning and has damaged my wingmirror, scrapped the windscreen (luckily it didn't shattered) and scrapped and dented the bonnet, just what I needed.0
