Hi everyone,
I need some pushchair advice! Need to look at a double pushchair for Charlie & bump. I've have a long term loan of a side by side double as I'm a childminder but its such a beast, I can hardly move it now let alone when I'm 7months + preg. So I'm looking for a tandem pushchair.
At the moment Charlie has a Chicco Winter London and I really like it. Its umbrella folding so stays nice and small and although the wheels aren't inflatable style they are sturdy. I had a mothercare one and the wheels bent and buckled after a few weeks of having it. I know of someone who is selling a Mothercare tandem pushchair for about £100 which has hardly been used but I not sure if I'll trust it fully, and as its a private sale I can't take it back if someting happens.
Anyway I'm rambling. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?:heart2: Charlie born Aug 2007 :heart2: Reece born May 2009

My friend has a Phil and Ted, the one with a seat slung underneath, and thinks it's ace. I'm not so sure about the view for the second child, but she can't say enough good stuff about it. And it's fine to use when you only have one as the second seat seems to disappear, so better than a true tandem or side by side I guess?MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090

Baybee - for ours the dress is smart casual as it usually involves a trip around the shopfloor. One of our observations is ' is the candidate smart in appearance?' and believe me sometimes they are not!!!!!:rotfl:Pair of pants and nice top would be fine - some wear jeans but not sure about that and definately give your pink vicky pollard tracksuit a miss on this day lol
Anyone any views on the next stage car seat from 9 months? My mum is going to give me money towards it as part of Ruby's christmas pressie as she dosnt really need alot and I was looking at the Maxi-cosi or britax.19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0 -
PP I'd go with whatever fits in your car to be honest - the Maxi Cosi is all that I could get in the end! DS sleeps well in it so I'm happy  I'd recommend Halfords for fitting, the poor guy tried 5 different seats and didn't frown once!0

We've got the Britax Eclipse Si seat. The lady in Mothercare recommended that one and took it out and checked it fitted in our car before we bought it. It's been fine and we've had no problems with it, and Charlotte seems more comfortable in it compared to a cheap seat my Mam bought in Argos for her car.
It's very girly too!

They had other colours if you don't like the pink! Here I go again on my own....0 -
We have a maxi-cosi too - because it fit and was on special!
I think Mothercare have some money off car seats at the moment if you can get it in advance. Otherwise there are always sales after Xmas. You don't have to move them immediately at 9 months if they are still under the weight limit (can't remember what it is). We actually moved imogen at about 8 months has her head control was great and she had hit the weight limit.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
WE have a maxi-cosi too and the weight limit is 20lb (9kg), I think. Tom is 9 months next week but still only around 16lb and only putting on about 1lb per month so it might be a while before he's in his "big" car seat. I can't wait as it's such a hassle swapping the base between my car and my mam's car several times a week. Plus, I'm hoping he'll be hapier in the car once he can see more as he still tends to cry if the car stops at traffic lights / junctions etc (and he doesn't stop until we get home or I get him out!)0
