MarkP you are quite right. I do mention the conran card in my old rewards article. I must admit i tend to consider it a reward card - yet i do see your point - cash is.... well cash.
I will try and have a word with them and see if any changes to the system are planned. If not will include it in the article

When I applied to upgrade my Amex Blue for a Platinum, I was told I qualify for 2% straightaway as I had already spent £2000 on the Blue card. Moral if you are switching to Amex, get a Blue first, then when you've spent enough upgrade ::)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. There was a post elsewhere which warned about the upgrade with Amex - you need to make sure things are synchronised properly to avoid paying interest.0

I have an Abbey cashback credit card. This was paying 1% cashback if you spend more than £500 per month (which i do). This was 1% on total spend, so spend £800 get £8 cashback. However on the last 2 statements I have noticed that they are only giving 0.5% on the first £500 and 1% on amounts over £500. So now you only get £2.50 + £3 for £800 spend As far as I can see I have not been notified of this change. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I got a Citibank Platinum credit card approx two months ago.
Since then, I have been receiving cashback on my monthly statement equivalent to 1% of my monthly spend.
I telephoned them today and they confirmed that I am currently earning 1% cashback on all purchases. This was not talked about in any of their promotional material or on the web site but does exist.
A good cashback card!
-- and also at the moment I seem to be earning cashback on balance transfers, but when they notice I cant see them paying up!Jas0 -

I've been in touch with Capital One re. my Circle Rebate card - Helen Shipway there tells me that there are no plans to change the 1% cashback ???
I never received any letter from Capital One about this cashback reduction from 1% to 0.5%. Do you think this only applies to certain customers instead of everyone?
My August statement is still showing a 1% cashback on any purchases the previous month but as a precaution, I only use the card a few times this month and stop using it for now and see what cashback is on the September statement.0 -
The reduction did not apply to everyone.
If you didn't get a letter then you didn't get a reduction.
We have tried to work out the basis for their selection and it looks like the newer customers get to keep the 1%.0
