Do you think there is scope for a deal here?? Bear in mind we have been customers with sky for more than 7 years!!
Any help would be gratefully recieved.
P.S. whats the free phone number again??

Well you'lll be able to sign up as a new customer so you can make some money savings from the off.:money:

Before you signup get your parents to call and 'reccomned a friend' which should net them £50 in vouchers.

Then signup online via quidco for £50 cashback
    http://www.quidco.com/?search=sky
(you may also get a £10 credit to your account as stated on the sky website).

I am thinking you could bring one of the sky+ boxes from your parents house to your new pad? If so why not get a standard digibox installed for free. You can then buy the 'Quad LNb' upgrade for your dish and do a sky+ self install (cost about £10 on ebay I think).
    Basic guide here: http://www.simplydigital.co.uk/articles/installing-sky-plus.htm

You could also sell the newly supplied digibox and re-coup some more cash?

Alternatively just use your £50 cashback towards the cost of the sky installation and it will only cost you a tenner over the £99 (assuming you don't get the £10 credit in which case if you do it's effectively free anyway!).

As a new customer you'll get free films or sports for 6 months too.

You have lots of options available that's for sure.:rotfl: :j :rotfl:

    Hi there

Just to say thanks for giving us the courage to beat them at their own game. After alot of bartering we managed to get 6 months half price and no tie in for the full package.
Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

    Ah well - I tried......

Currently paying £21 a month for 6 mixes (as they call it)
Best guy would offer was £5 per month for 2 mixes for 4 months, effectively costing me nothing for the rest of the year.

Only problem is it would seriously limit the household viewing as we would lose channels we currently watch.
So no point in cutting off my nose to spite my face.
    Still paying £21.
We all evolve - get on with it

Just rang up and told them NTL had just moved into my area and were offering 6 months half price (Lies of course)
Offered me 25% off for 12 months.
I said i was looking for something shorter term and straight away he offered me half price for 6 months on my current package ,Sky Sports and Family Package.
I'm only off half price for 3 months,5 days and now this is superb.
    Massive.:j

Unfortunately, you can't qualify for both the "introduce a friend" deal and the quidco one. In order for your parents to get the £50 vouchers, you will either have to call the dedicated introduce a friend sales line, or follow a unique email link which you can't go through from quidco.

On balance the quidco deal is better than the introduce a friend deal because you will qualify for the £10 credit on your bill as well as the £50 quidco deal.
  • What do I say?(script) You want to cancel as you need to cut costs and you are fed up with the latest price rise. You are thinking of getting freeview. Be nice but stick to the "i'm cancelling" line until you get an offer. If asked about your viewing habbits in an attempt to get you to cut down your package say that memebers of your family watch a variety of channels across all the packages.

Who do I say it to? (tel number) Easiest to call customer servics and ask to be put through to canclllations. Try this number 08005875707. When asked for a customer number dial 123. Do it twice and then you'll be put through to customer services for free. They may say the dept is busy and you may have to hold for 15 minutes. usually you get through much quicker than that - it's ploy to delay the cancellation.

What do I take if offered? 6 months half price or a cheap sky plus system if you want one (they seem the best deals of late).

Followed the script posted above and got Sky Sports World for half price (£18) for the next six months.

Thanks everyone for the help and pointers.
