Just rang the number above (last 0800 number), answered straight away and got a lovely lady who offered me half price tv for 6 months, saving me £12 a month for the next six. Am well chuffed, thanks everyone! :-)
Could you let me know what number you rang as I can't find a freephone number? Thanks0 -
My Box packed up last week (it was 10 years old), last night after reading about their £65 call out charge I decided to cancel.
I explained my problem to them on the phone and was Offered a new Sky HD+ box with free installation and no obligation to take the HD package if I didn't want it.
Only a couple of weeks ago I was looking at upgrading to SKY+ but was put off by the price.0 -
just had the same free offer installed , its a HD + box without the HD content enabled (fitter said its now standard practice)Ex forum ambassador

Phone number that sky called me back to my mobile on:
08000512592 - assume this is a free number??
Anyhow rang up to cancel - was going to use my sky box for the free channels, and cancel my bt line, and sign up to virgin for internet....
But was offered sky line rental, evening and weekend calls for free, unlimited internet, and 5 mix tv for £30 a month. For 6 months, then the TV goes up 11 quid. The line rental is on 12 month term but the rest is no minimum term so can cancel those if i wish.
Was paying £16 to BT roughly for line rental and some call package.... and £42 to Sky for 5 mixes and unlimited internet.
So I've basically halved my costs for 6 months, then can cancel the TV or hopefully get another deal after my half price tv offer runs out.0 -
I am on VM L broadband for 18.00/month that's expired (was 12.00 for 6 months or something). Gave them a call and was offered TV + Phone + Broadband L for 29.99, no V box. Didn't strike as a good deal so I hanged up. Guy didn't seem to budge. Didn't mention BT Vision. Should I try again? What price should I be aiming at? I just want basic TV and broadband - don't need a fixed line.0

I phoned today as i currently am paying around £36 per month for:
standard tv box

broadband large
I said i was thinking of leaving and was offered (all with free installation saving £50):
high def box and same package as current for £35
V+ and same package for £40.49
V+ and all channels for £45.24
Do any of them sound like a good deal or should i be being

Just rang Sky on 0800 051 2597 and went through the options to remove package/cancel subscription (option 3 then 4 I think)and spoke to a very nice lady.
I asked if there where any offers available at the moment (I am on the 6 mix) and I was asked if I would cancel my subscription if there was no offers available.
I said that I would look at other providers and was immediately offered half price subscription to the 6 mix for 6 months saving £12.00 per month, I said thanks very much but I was wondering if any upgrade offers are available.
I was offered the full package inc sport and movies for 6 months for £25.00 per month.
I have had various offers before from Sky and have found that if you are calm and polite you quite often get what you want.:D:D
Hope others have the same good fortune0 -
Hi!
I am with Virgin media and I have BB L, Phone M and TV M for £26.99 a month incl. line rental (so basically the smallest version of the 3 services).
I phoned them earlier asking if I could get the M+ TV for free because I didn't think I was getting a good enough deal (and I really want Sky 1 and 2). They wouldn't budge though, and told me it would be an extra £4 per month.
Does anyone think it's worth pursuing? Or do you think I could get a better deal with Sky? I would really like the Sky1 and 2 channels, ad the Discovery channels. I don't want film/sports channels, so a pretty basic package really!
I have really confused myself looking at the Sky website....0 -
My virgin contract is coming up for renewal, after two initial enquiries I got no real incentive for renewing. I cancelled on a monday and was then called on the wednesday and was offered V+ hd, XL TV, 10mb BB and free evening weekend calls for just under £30 a month, needless to say I accepted.0
