It's got to be worth a try to get all new equipment as it should be more reliable and last longer that way. After all you do end up paying SKY a lot of money to watch TV, as well as your TV licence to the BBC.
Have a good weekend.

They just ran one extra cable for us on the original install.
Then 14 months later needed to replace dish. lnb and cables. The second engineer said it should have all been done with the new box being installed.
That is a bit unlucky to have a duff LNB and cables after 14 months.
Hope the new ones last longer0 -
I had the following VM media package: M TV, Phone and CLI, XL Broadband and paper billing. I was paying £35.24 for all of that.
Called up as I was nearing a year and I got a free N router though have to pay the £4.99 postage. I got a V+HD box for free and no set up fee and a £5/month free.
Signed up to online billing so that saved £1.25. So overall I will be paying £38.99 for M TV, Phone & CLI, XL Boradband with a N router.
Probably should have driven a harder bargain but satisfied with that package.0 -

Have I misread your post? You are now paying more for the same services because you got a "free" router? (which including the p+p seems to be costing you £50 over the year)0 -

I just signed up to Virgin Media, due to have installation on Tuesday but I'm not sure whether to continue with it.
I'm getting a free V+ box with free installation, getting 10mb broadband with free wireless router, 165 channels & free evening & weekend calls for £47.94.
I'm currently with Sky and have 3 Pack for TV, 10mb broadband & phone for £41.00 but I also pay £6.75 for Sky Protect which I think is for anything that goes wrong with the box.
I've looked on the Sky website and if I wanted Sky+ on top of what I'm paying, I think it will be £49 for the Sky+ box & £60 for installation without paying for HD.
Have I got a good deal?0 -
need to save some money and thinking about getting rid of virgin media, the best deal they can do for me is xltv,xl phone L broadband and 2 v+ hd boxes for £50.74 a month. i have been thinking of going with o2 for my phone and broadband, i have a bt line in house but not connected but post office will connect for free and their line rental is £12 a month but you can cancel anytime ,so i can get it reconnected and then just pay o2 for phone and broadband. any better suggestions would be great.0

That would be fantastic.
I was told it's the case if you still have a tone. But as you are saying your line is not connected, then I assume you don't have a tone?0 -
I'm with Virgin Media at the moment and currently have TV XL, Phone XL, and Broadband L
I'm interested in the V+HD box.
Looking online, new customers can get this for a £35 install charge (setup free). BUT because i've got a standard box a present this is treated as a second box and i'd be charged £5.50 a month on top.
I have one TV and no need for the old box - when I told them this they said that in that case it would cost me £90!
I know I really should know but as far as I know i'm not in any fixed term package - the last time I upgraded was Sept 09 and I've been with NTL/Virgin since '98.
Should have said - i'm currently paying £51.84 for the above.
Any ideas how to approach this one?0
